General impressions from day 1 at camp from what I read

Geno and Fitz both got first team reps
Geno looked sharp
Fitz had 3 picks, most of any qb,looked rusty
Hack and petty both struggled
McDougle(picked off fitz twice)and milliner looked good
Marcus Williams got burnt a lot
Jenkins looks like a natural fit on the LB squad

I think either Milliner or McDougle end up getting the #2 spot opposite Revis.

Hopefully both can stay healthy

And then Bowles was straight up saying nothing in practice will change Fitz being the starter barring something drastic :snoop:

Is it just me or Bowles just Rex 2.0 without the big mouth? Same hands off approach to offense. Same shytty clock management

He seems to get very stubborn about who he wants starting. Just look at cro and Demario getting burnt all year and still being trotted out

Dude actually believes the Jets had a coach at the level of Andy Reid in 2013 and 2014 :heh:

Dudes post stuff to win arguments at all costs.
I mean, I think its quite unfair to say andy reid is basic guy whos predictable

on topic, I think fitz is a better qb than geno at this point :manny:
I might have to agree with trip which is a rare thing, that this is very overblown by many. at most this qb hoopla costs you like 1 or 2 games in the worst possible case. and in reality you probably win around 1 more game with fitz than you do with geno.

doesnt change anything in the grand scheme of things for yall.

about geno, I want him to succeed, but I just dont see how he ever becomes more than what he is because of tons of careless and just dumb turnovers. fitz stopgap signing doesnt block him in any way, because there isnt much to block :manny:

IF the Jets have moved on from Geno and they know what he is,why havent they cut him ?

Geno knows the system, has started in the NFL(Petty and Hackenburg obviously havent) and can come in and play well if needed if/when Fitz gets hurt.

There's no need for the Jets to cut him. I still find it hard to believe the Jets will carry 4 QB on the 53 man roster, maybe Petty gets cut?

He had 13 tds and 13 ints his last season, a definite improvement to Firz pre jets levels.

I don't think you're taking into account the level of crap coaching and poor personnel around Geno. What's being blocked is based of their failure

how is 13 tds and 13 ints a definite improvement when fitz had 5 years better than that before the jets ?

NFL in general is a what have you done for me lately league either way. if a bum has a career year last year, he will get opportunities. jets were right to refuse to give fitz big money or lots of years. I dont think theyre wrong giving a guy who posted a 31/15 12m and a stopgap deal. alex smith got a similar deal before kaep took over for us.

if fitz struggles, I expect geno to get some burn.

seriously, the deal isnt anything to cry about imo. its not a huge contract. your cap doesn't look too amazing, Ill give you that, but looks like it's manageable. its essentially a one year deal with no strings attached

geno really isnt some high level prospect or anything. his relatively high pick position was mostly because of a weak qb class and there isnt really anything more to him for you to put your faith in him :manny:
I do agree that he mightve not had the opportunities, but such is the life of a player, especially a qb in the nfl. you cant always get opportunities as a starter in the league.

just my 2 cents here
