Jets didnt want to risk Geno not improving with a veteran offense, or pissing off Marshall and Decker. The offense is old anyways...once Maccagnan started spending last year after everyone wanted Idzik gone, Geno didnt have much of a leash.

There was no one else out there to give it to. One year deal im good with. Really no downside to it.

Fitzpatricks on a one year deal. There's not much love there, rightfully so. Fitz's only leverage was that Geno was he backup...and it worked.

There will be no improvement against this hard a schedule and 2015 tape on Fitz in this offense, but I agree with you that Geno didn't have much of a leash after Idzik left. That's unfortunate but the facts are that new regimes often want to bring in their own guys.
