All signs point to Geno starting next year. His advanced stats look good. Geno had high Air Yard Per Attempt in his Raiders game, which says he throws the ball downfield. The top of this stat is dominated by the best QBs whereas the bottom is dominated by the worse like Fitz. Moreover Geno threw for more Yards per Attempt in 2014 with Decker than Fitz did in 2015, lending to credence that Geno can take better advantage of Decker and Marshall. Lastly Geno's turnover rate has plummeted over his last 5 games, which implies he'll throw interceptions. All in all I sense we're in for a breakout Geno season.

That aside, advanced statistics Fitz is Brian Hoyer with a weaker arm and a penchant for taking fewer sacks. In other words, he's trash and not good enough to get to the playoffs with this Jets team next year. Fitz Air Yards per Attempt is pitiful and AIr Yards Per Attempt is a strong predictor of QB effectiveness.

When did I ever say this?
And I mean, we went from cap heaven to cap hell in 1 off season with nothing to show for it and now losing guys like snacks because of it.

Our new gm hasn't proven anything yet except how to mismanage money.

At least he's not taking the Fitz bait and over paying....so far.

I said theirs no market for Fitz at all. We would be bidding against ourselves. Looks like Mikes being smart about that thank Christ.

He needs to nail this draft and prove his worth. I'm not seeing a real plan so far

I've given solutions and suggestions already. Many of us have. Just because they don't involve Fitz here til the end of time doesn't mean they're not valid.

With the current roster construction going with Petty next year would be silly. Would you rather Hoyer at the vet minimum...because that's who were looking at if Fitz gets overpaid.

It would be silly to give a young guy to find out if he's our future, reps? :mindblown:

The Jets are a win now team where Fitz is an all pro?

With the current set up of the roster and with all of the money shed after 2016, yes its silly to throw Petty into the fire now. 2016 is the last year with this offense. It's very possible Brick, Mangold and Marshall are all not on the team next year. Next year is the true reset.

Plus we have Petty on the books, for super cheap for another 3 years. It's not necessary he gets reps immediately.

Why would it be silly?

So you want us to waste a season? :mindblown:

Why would it be wasting a season? Im saying the exact opposite. You have Petty, who we all know was a project, through 2018 for nothing. Pairing him this year with a veteran laden offense, who mostly can come off the books after 2016 is a year too early.

You are. I want to know who is our future. Fitz, your factor that makes or breaks the Jets, isn't....yet you believe playing him next season makes us.
