This literally happens all the time :beli:

Wilder was in the wrong corner N the ref sent him to a neutral corner then the count continued… this happens a lot
Both men were treated entirely differently when coming off the canvas

I’m not saying that should’ve or could’ve changed the result. If either had been counted out on the first set of knockdowns that wouldn’t of been as conclusive … but at the same time, Wilder wasn’t conditioned for the type of fight he was trying to come out there with. If he broke his hand or something and they went to the scorecards after a few rounds call it another time after the highlight reel knockdowns then bring them back in for a fourth fight

Like another poster said, once Tyson Fury got up Wilder’s window of opportunity has left the station .. he was gassed, and he was watching the impossible. Probably once again accomplished his goal though and saw to it that he was seeing out his vision, that is that he put Fury down again … VERY LONG COUNT

if he can get in shape and win some fights as a boxer maybe they can do it again one more time, he would have to commit to an entirely different game plan though or else he’d just be wasting his time though

very great fight. I pray for a speedy and full recovery for both fighters, may they tend to themselves and rise to their feet stronger than ever with Godspeed

You could tell in his pre-fight interviews he wasn't that up for it, seemed almost irritated/bored by the fact he had to fight him again(Wilder had to push for it though so no problems with that)

I also feel AJ losing took a little motivation away too. Honestly i'm slightly worried he might fall in to one of those spells where he feels he has nothing to fight for anymore. He said in one of the interviews that even if AJ wins the rematch it's not the same fight anymore, can tell he's a bit downbeat.

Hopefully not though as a Whyte fight then Usyk/AJ 2 winner would really cement him as one of the greats(he is already, but more so).
I think he’s kinda over wilder but he’s either hoping usyk or

Someone please explain to me what happened between 5 and 6 on that count.

If you can't admit that this was an unusual long count then u don't need 2 say ne thing more ur jus bias. Cous it's blatantly obvious that was a long count.

Now I'm not debating that fury is better boxer than wilder of ne thing else bout da fight.

But that count was slow and long mang. It reminded me of Tyson Douglas

wildwr can’t beat fury my guy let it go

Man fukk Tyson Fury. I mean he won and he is clearly the better boxer but I can’t stand that dude.

And the ref definitely counted slow but refs do that sometimes. by my count he still would have made it up by 8-9 as opposed to 6-7 and if the ref counted correctly and called it a KO based on that we would have all felt ripped off. He was up by 9 and ready to keep going. I’ve seen fights called when the boxer is ready at 9, and I’ve always felt cheated. I know it’s gonna be debated more and fair enough, it was a close count and I’m not mad if anyone feels it was too slow, but I don’t think they will be able to fight it because it wasn’t out of the ordinary

Wilder wasn't in the neutral corner. The count gets paused until the fighter is in his neutral corner

Tyson didn't look or act hurt and the blows that dropped him didn't seem that devastating.
Wilder look drained and not there, plus he took a good amount of damage before dropping

Nah them blows was heavy, and they knocked him a bit. Sometimes dudes don’t look at all rattled until they try get up and their knees buckle. That’s why Fury was sitting on the canvas. He was playing it smart and buying his time. He knew what he was doing. If you get up to quick off a strong punch it can make you fallout.

there are some boxers that are just built to go the distance in the ring, like Anthony Mundine. They just wear their opponents down. Wilder did good to slug it out as long as he could but if he broke his hand he had no chance really. His only chance was to keep delivering them right hand blows.

Wilder is a brawler with incredible heart and courage but Fury is the superior boxer.
Real talk, where is the Black American heavyweight with elite knock out power AND solid footwork/ boxing technique? Until we get that, the Brits and the Eastern Euros are gonna stay running that heavyweight division.
Big Baby Jared Anderson who fought on the undercard might be our only hope.

Few other things I was thinking of throughout the fight...

-I have no idea why Wilder came in heavy for these last two fights. I'm guessing he got spooked by Fury surviving his knockout shot in the first fight when he was 212 or so, but that was also his best fight of the trilogy. 220 or so would be one thing (Usyk weighed in at 221 for the Joshua fight), but 238 is a LOT of weight for a guy like Wilder trying to execute his gameplan in this fight. Not surprised he gassed within 4 rounds or so.
I think Wilder came in big for the last fight because he knew Fury was coming in big. Fury talked about coming into the fight at 300 lbs. He was going to maul Wilder and use his weight to bully him. Wilder knew that, and decided to bulk up too.

I agree that Wilder is at his best when he's around 215-220. But at the same token I don't think he would have been able to hurt Fury at that weight, nor would he have been able to absorb the punishment Fury dished out. If he didn't come in heavier then he would have been stopped sooner :manny:
