Honestly, Wilder looked out of it before the fight even started. His body was going through the motions but he seemed like he was totally somewhere else mentally in that 1st round. Doesn't take away from the heart he displayed but it's like he knew he was about to hold that L.
How do you put on extra weight and then your gameplan is lunging, loaded up jabs and backing out of clinches
Extra weight probably helped him take more of those punches though
it's easy to say strategy and footwork until you've been leaned on for 6 minutes by a 280+ man. And you're body can't execute anything.Strategy is all part of the battle
Damn, he 35? He might need to start considering retirement. Dude took a beating in 2 straight fights. I understand having pride, but a few more fights like that and his brain is jello.
I felt the same way. His eyes said he really didn’t want to be in there. Didn’t have the same urgency or energy from previous fights.
called it #820 pg 17Nihga didn’t have heart he had a fukked up trainer givin him smelling salt
Kenny was lookin at wilder the entire time since the ear was bleeding knowing he was out of it wondering how is this nikka keep coming back
jay was givin him a burst .. yet when he gets hurt .. he can’t tell 1 from 2
Once all that new shyt he learned get smothered n out the window watch him go to his old ways
that shyt look good when u following the person with mits lead
n he sparring boxers nowhere near the boxer of fury
sluggers have a punchers chance
ask mike tyson .. that peekaboo shyt didn’t work once he got in there with cats who could box n utilize that jab
once wilder gets smothered n have to reset .. that game plan out the window he will back to his No foot work swinging for the fences shyt
Deontay had a strategy of going to the body to set up the head and abandoned it after 2 rounds. Never faked the right hook at all. No set up for the hook aside from the single jab. Only one uppercut while they were clinched up.
He absolutely showed a ton of heart, but he also took an unnecessary beating that could have been mitigated by incorporating some basic boxing combinations, set ups, and feints. Idk if he continues fighting after this, but I don't see him reaching the summit again until he addresses his technical skills.
Yeah. He did once or twice (I believe it was end of the 6th or 7th) and the clinch uppercut had Fury in some trouble and then the bell rang.Wilder throws no uppercuts or body punches in the clinch.
Great fight and I'm ready to see Fury v Joshua/Usyk II winner
That's honestly what caused both knockdowns but Fury started blocking all body shots outside of the hugging shyt.He was excellent in the first round going tonthe body. If he kept that up the whole fight he would have won.
I was talking about the introductions mostly, I agree first round he looked good and went with the game planI thought the first round was the best he looked in all 3 fights
His ship has sailed. Should’ve signed the deal when it was on the table. Why is Joshua being mentioned in here? He lost to a fat mexican and just lost again
mans on his way straight to the hospital cut him some slack his eardrums probably ruptured
Fukk Malik Scott. His performance was embarrassing. He had over a year.Wilder reminded me of them EA Fight Night games. He was just throwin haymakers out there. He need a real trainer to be rebuild him.
