Going through their Twitter timeline I saw 1 black person and they were flanked by a bunch of white people. Teen Vogue obviously has a specific audience in mind and black people aren't apart of their vision.
Vogue been racist.

I don't know why people would expect the Teen version of it to be anything less than..

the 2010s=The gentrification/whitewashing era of black culture.

For sure. I feel you but...is it really white washing though?:ld:

The Iggy Azalea's getting a co-sign from the game is white washing to me. Black rappers and hip hop heads

were letting her in and she became a face for a minute. What's happening here is straight jacking. Acting like we don't even exist :pacspit:

"marley twists"

cacs are ridiculous...
Marley twist didn't come from cacs :heh:

It's an actual style of hair named after Bob Marley if im not mistaken. Marley twists/ Marley hair is an old term.

To me it is,..and it reminds me of the notion of how black culture is more revered/respected when its NOT coming from black people...

White chick gets dreads/braids= people are like...oh how cool...she's hot
Black chick gets dreads/braids= "I feel like she smells like patchouli and weed" "how ghetto"

White chick twerks= oh that's art, that's hot...let's make millions off of this and make work out classes off of this
Black chick twerks= disgusting ghetto culture, go back to section 8 housing, black wedlock birth rate references.

It pisses me off cause they act like we didn't even come up with the shyt...we do the work...they take all the credit at the end of the day.

I see why people don't like white folk and their "culture" man beyond the obvious history of cruelty, oppression, torment, marginalization, rewriting of history, etc...if it wasn't for people of color, they wouldnt have anything resembling a culture.

we gonna act like it's not happening on this very forum
at the very least we could denounce it
Not one black person i've ever met in real life has refused to call a bi-racial person mixed

In fact, bi-racial kids in black neighborhoods usually end up being referred to as white girl/white boy as their nickname
