I was about to say the same thing. shyt if the Russian Oligarchs are going to use cyptocurrency to launder money, they would probably use Monero and shyt, I'm about to make some money off their sanction dodging then. 
Seriously though I've been thinking about getting some XMR

Seems like not at all for me. Coinbase or Gdax don't work. Bitfinex doesn't serve customers in the U.S anymore. Any other options?Better late to the party than not at all
Coinbase took a while for me too but it did ultimately work. When did you try to start? Did you put in your checking/savings acct and routing number?

Nah I'm in for the extra long term. I was dumb and sold some Ltc at 125, I learned from my mistake.
Plus the taxes are far more favorable when you wait at least a year to sell.
