lol, we aren't getting Beal unless we give some serious asset like Herro, Bam or Winslow. Wizards aren't just going to take trash for Beal.

Best case scenario is we trade for Chris Paul

NBA Trade Machine - ESPN

Heat
Beal and Paul

Wizards
Winslow/Kelly Olinyk/2021 first round pick/2023 first round pick with protection removed.

Thunder
Goran and Troy Brown Junior

Chris Paul/Nunn
Bradley Beal/Tyler Herro
Jimmy Butler/DJJ/Duncan Robinson
James Johnson/Myers Leanord/KZ
Bam Adebayo/Tacko Fall(if not resigned)
My concern is i'd like to keep one of the picks.

Also the Heat always does a great job of making sure things dont leak but cant same the same for the other teams. If details of a proposed deal becomes public a team may swoop in and make a better offer as we saw in the WestBrook saga. Cats were in here saying "we got all summer" and i just knew the longer the delay the chances of someone intercepting it was growing.

I think OKC already has a deal in place for Chris Paul and it's just a matter of waiting for certain timelines to expire.

Think about it,
  • they had Westbrook a player they wanted but felt they should part ways with in order to rebuild
  • They ditch Westbrook for an even less desirable contract and lesser player with same amount of years left.
  • You don't take something you don't want for something you want but can't keep without a plan in place to ditch the one you don't want.
May not be with Miami but they have a deal in place already. They were in o rush to trade Russ.

It won’t happen but the perfect spot for Paul is the Spurs

Didn't the Spurs have a young PG they're trying to groom? Doubt they'd want an overpriced unhappy Paul complaining about playing time

If and only if a deal for Beal isnt possible, How do we feel about Demar Derozan? :lupe:

I know he's no superstar but nice player, all-star and best of all only 2 years left on his contract. If Spurs just wanna give him away and no takers i'd ship Dion Waiters and another undesirable contract for him. Tho i dont see why Spurs would take that trade.

Unless Riley can talk Pop to start all over by giving us both Derozan and Lamarcus Aldridge. Aldridge can be a low-post presence Derozan can be our intermediate midrange guy. And since Jimmy will be our go-to guys...We could take the East.

Again im just speculating since i dont see what we have that the Spurs would want for them unless they gut us and im not giving up young talent (Winslow and Bam) or draft picks for them

Get both of them back, Riley

Chris Paul Trade Rumors: Heat Want Previously Dealt Picks from Thunder
ROB GOLDBERG
JULY 15, 2019

NBA trades can get complicated, especially when trading draft picks deep into the future. This could be a significant holdup in a potential trade involving Chris Paul and the Miami Heat. The veteran point guard is part of the Oklahoma City Thunder after coming over in exchange for Russell Westbrook, but the team will likely try to ship him out again.

While the Heat are apparently interested, they want to bring back picks they previously traded.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN broke down the situation Monday on SportsCenter:

"When you talk about him potentially going to the Miami Heat, which is his preference, one thing I’ve been told in the talks, the fact that the Thunder hold the two of the Heat’s first-round picks in the future—unprotected 2021, protected 2023—makes this a difficult conversation because the Heat want those picks back. The Thunder have expressed interest in giving one of those picks back but they would want another pick farther off into the future."

The 2023 pick is lottery-protected and was used as a sweetener to the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this month to help complete the sign-and-trade that landed Jimmy Butler, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The 2021 pick is unprotected and was originally dealt in the 2015 trade that landed Goran Dragic. While the Heat benefitted from both those deals, they apparently want their own picks back to take on Paul's contract.

Windhorst previously said on The Rich Eisen Showthat the Thunder will likely have to attach picks just to get rid of the point guard. He is still an effective player on the court but is owed more than $120 million over the next three years.

Oklahoma City will take a deliberate approach to any deal, but the mutual interest between Miami and Paul could lead to a deal.

Riley is such a G. :ehh:
Riley and his team know OKC took the deal for Paul knowing damn well they (OKC) wanted no part of keeping CP3 and that contract to begin with. OKC just wanted the picks and pick-swaps from the Rockets but ended up with Paul attached to match WestBrook's contract. So technically the deal will be more about what OKC is willing to pay to get rid of Chris Paul than it s about what another team is willing to pay to get Chris Paul.

Think of it this way it's buyer's market and OKC cant keep up the mortgage and whoever gets Chris Paul will be doing so via a short-sale.

Lucky for us there arent many teams lining up to take on that contract which i was surprised by, honestly. CP3 can still play. Teams are just afraid of that contract. The old Knicks FO regime would have been all over it. Seems like they wisened up

Ya'll really think ya'll getting Beal? :lolbron:
If there is a deal on the table i'm sure Riley will at least "get in the room" as he once said. I still question Washington's willingness to trade Beal. It doesnt make sense to me yet.
