This fight.

Any fight..he never takes solid body shots or takes power shots that show "damn he got a chin". Last few fights .he wipes these jobbers out in like a round or two.

yeah that his lone really bad fight..but he stayed upright..he hasnt been down yet...this isnt like a seth mitchell / michael bennett type situation

Point is..he got a long way to go and much to prove. He keeps saying he'll ko Tank in 3 rounds. We'll see.

Ryan has the tools to beat all of these guys. But my only question is does he have the chin. His speed will give everybody trouble for a few rounds, but what's gonna happen if he gets clipped and has to go to war. I still think he fights way too stiff and keeps his head too high when he exchanges. I feel like he's always standing straight up.

But the fact that he's taller and faster than everybody else means he's gonna be tough to deal with regardless of his shortcomings. But as we seen with amir Khan, those things can only get you so far if you're opponent can time you. And guys like teofimo and tank both have great timing. 135 is such a crazy division. Every big matchup can go either way. I could see Ryan beating tank and losing to teo. But I could also see teo beating Ryan and losing to tank. And vice versa. shyt is wild. Every matchup is unique.

Don't get the blind confidence in Ryan Garcia. This won't be a short dude ducking into his left hooks while coming at him. Campbell is taller, rangier, moves around better, more experienced... Garcia's pressure game better be on point and that's something I haven't seen from him before.
I guess I get why Ryan Garcia is a betting favorite but I missed the point where he convinced everyone he gonna be this super fighter down the line. His last two wins were solid but came in similar circumstances, I'm not completely sold on him yet as a future star.
Seems like being in Canelo's camp also pushed his hype further but even though Reynoso seems to be a quality trainer not all his fighters dazzled lately (Valdez, Nery...)
It's entirely possible he clips Campbell but Campbell can UD his ass too if he's staying away from Garcia's left hook and pepper him with jabs all night.

Justmy two cents and it's still very early in all of their careers but so far I think Haney and Shakur would beat Tank and Garcia.
Maybe it's just I'm skeptical with fighters who are fishing for 2-3 big counters and then reset. Lopez proved he has plenty of boxing ability too by outboxing Loma so it's not impossible... but I think Shakur and Haney are moving better in the ring and better at long range than Ryan or Tank.

he will.
Campbell is quality, but he don't have enough dog in him to win the tough close fights. I feel like the same thing happens here. When its time to fight, he'll just double down on his boxing.

Why do we assume Garcia has though? Hasn't showed it thus far. Besides for that to happen he needs to take the fight to Campbell and effectively cut down the ring on a way that he forces out said dog fights.

Assuming Campbell will stay outside and moving

Garcia-Campbell DAZN Weigh-In Report From Dallas
By Jake Donovan

Published On Fri Jan 1, 2021, 02:44 PM EST

DALLAS—The sacrifices made by both Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell through the holiday season proved rewarding at the scale.

Both boxers made weight Friday afternoon at Renaissance Dallas hotel ahead of their scheduled 12-round interim WBC lightweight title fight, which will air live on DAZN this Saturday from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The bout marks the first ring appearance following lengthy inactive periods for Garcia and Campbell.

For the sixth straight time since moving up in weight, Garcia (20-0, 17KOs) squeezed his lean 5’10” frame into a lightweight uniform. The unbeaten 22-year old contender from Victorville, California officially weighed 135 pounds for his first bout with ties to a major title (albeit, an interim version).

Campbell (20-3, 16KOs) enters his third career fight under such circumstances, having fallen short in two fights with real titles at stake. The 33-year old southpaw from Hull, England tipped the scale at a fighting fit 135 pounds for Saturday’s headliner, which marks his fourth appearance in the U.S.

The bout ends a 16-month ring absence for Campbell, as the 2012 Olympic Gold medalist hasn’t fought since a 12-round loss to Vasiliy Lomachenko in their Aug. 2019 multi-belt title fight in London.

Garcia was last seen in a 1st round knockout of former two-time title challenger Francisco Fonseca last Valentine’s Day in front of a sold-out crowd at Honda Center in Anaheim, California. His star power has transferred out of state, as the entire initial inventory of more than 5,000 tickets were sold by mid-week, Event handlers were working on making more seats available, in compliance with CDC guidelines.

The American Airlines Center holds 20,000 under normal circumstances; the venue is scaled down due to COVID restrictions.

Garcia-Campbell headlines a five-fight telecast live on DAZN from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The official pre-fight weights for the undercard bouts are listed below.
