Vince and them are vindictive a$$holes though. I could see them trying to give him the Red Rooster treatment if he came back to WWE just for shyts and giggles because of the way he left. He would make out like a fat rat in Japan and the indie circuit though.No, he won't. Nobody in the wrestling world will give a shyt that he lost a UFC fight. Everyone in the WWE locker room would lose in the same way that he did tonight. It's basically the equivalent of Brock Lesnar leaving the WWE to play football, and getting cut almost immediately after signing with the Vikings. CM Punk is a top tier talent on the microphone and wrestling ring. People will immediately forget about this once he's back, except for those who have a hard-on for hating this dude
Also there is a subsection of the neckbeard contingent that likes to believe these pro wrestlers are legit badasses so Punk will never recover his past shine with those folks.

guys like gable, ziggler and swagger have strong collegiate backgrounds in wrestling.
even xavier, rhodes and i'm sure many others did it in high school.

not to mention some of these WWE guys actually have amateur wrestling backgrounds. I don't believe Phil has the same amount of training guys like American Alpha have. Even Dolph got an amateur wrestling background on some kind of competitive level.
