This is a very LOUD sounding record.

Pots and pans, forgettable double time verses. Did the engineer purposely compress every beat to a hollow shytstorm. :why:

I'd like to give this another listen when I'm blunted and drunk, but it's not looking good so far.

As soon as I saw the bit rates I knew what to expect as far as mastering. It was the same thing with Royce's Street Hop. When the bit rates are that high, and that close to being the same in average, guaranteed the mastering is shytty.

I wrote up a nice little post over at JoeBuddenTV, but when I went to post it, it told me to log in, when I was already logged in :smh:

Needless to say, the album is mad disappointing. I guess you could put me in the "Joe Budden Stan Club", and this shyt is just heartbreaking. I love all 4 of these dudes (5 if you wanna throw Em in there), and for their Major debut, it's inexcusable to release something like this. If they were gonna go the Hip-POP route, and basically try to sell, then they shoulda came out and said it, so expectations coulda been properly reduced. Instead, it was supposed to bring "Hip-Hop" and "Lyrics" back to the mainstream. This is the opposite of that.

Like has been said, there's no way that, at the least, Joe & Crooked can be okay with this record. Royce I can see, and maybe even Joell being on board with this a little bit, but I'd be SHOCKED if the 4 of them are 100%, hell, even 50-60% satisfied with the way the album turned out.

The Yelawolf error was that he rushed the project and it showed. Half that shyt was done before he even signed with Shady. This shyt is wack mainly because of production and them caving in to what they thought mainstream /radio wanted.

Pretty much...I do remember on first listen I really was disappointed with the album. Especially how u can clearly tell he recorded the album before the Shady signing.

And they rushed it out too...and picked the wrong singles..and gave shytty promotion.

However after a few listens the album did grow on me. But it was too bad how they literally pulled the plug on his album promo when it tanked on the charts. And then he literally just dropped off the face of the earth. Like Em just threw Yelawolf in the bushes :birdman: and focused all his attention on Slaughterhouse.

And I already know this album aint gonna sell..shytty promotion and lack luster singles. I think Em is stuck in that era where his co-sign was a positive thing and ANY artist with his co-sign would sell. It happened with D-12, and it happened with Obie. I would say 50, but his co-sign was the icing on the cake for his buzz.

Now it's a new era, and Em has been out the game for a few years and if seems he hasn't grasped on the new generation on how to build a buzz. Lyrics in this era sadly don't mean jack shyt now, and it most def doesn't mean u will sell. Em has a old school mind set on how to sell records. And as much as I like this album..I am sad to say that his Shady 2.0 project will be a fail :to:

Yelawolf had some really good cuts on Radioactive, but even a song like Throw It Up. You can tell that was a song Yelawolf already had and just threw in Em at the end just to have Em on it. Heart of Dixie with M16 was pretty good though. There's still hope for Yelawolf.

Just skimming through this.....the mixing/mastering was atrocious.....WTF??? This is a Shady release? who was the engineer on this shyt? Sounds like an amateur did this.

Slaughterhouse just did an interview on some radio station and they said Eminem would spend up to a week mixing each individual record. Good to see all that time he spent studying Dre in the studio paying off

Im amazed at how wack some of these beats are. How commercially aimed the majority of the album is and how wack these hooks are. Lyrics are there for the most part but musically and as a whole it just doesnt work.

Its crazy how dope the highs on there first album was and this album sees few moments like that. Its just sad how the whole Shady 2.0 came out. No classics, nothing memorable, nothing note worthy and nothing to musically impact the game at all.

I think it just goes to show how bad Eminem has just lost it musically as well.

Well it isn't what I would like to hear from them it's not bad. It's very underwhelming, and weird sounding cause it's so different than what they're known for, but there's a lot worse you could be listening to.

I understand why they tried to go mainstream. Making a underground themed album would've been a waste of time for them, they could've just stayed with Koch if they were gonna do that.

Throw It Away is worse than Throw That. I can tolerate Throw That.. even though the hook is bad it's catchy I guess.

I like Flip A Bird, Frat House, Coffin, Hammer Dance and My Life.. off first listen.

Only thing I have a problem with is Skylar Grey. You can see Em's fingerprints all over this with the mainstream approach, but having her on it just makes it ten times more obvious.

throw it away isn't as bad as people say it is, first time listening to it and it serves it's purpose, it knocks! they play this at the clubs and girls will be grinding on ya! if their album ends up selling, then maybe they can be even more flexible to let these dudes just do what they want

They could've limitted it to 1 to 3 songs for the radio and stayed true to their sound for the rest of the album. They would've kept their credibility in tact and probably sold more albums in the long run. Instead they made almost a whole album filled with corny circus music which alienates their core fanbase and isnt good enough to attract new ones.

These are the same dudes who have been preaching about how watered down hiphop has gotten for years. Now the first time they get a bit of a buzz they go against everything they're respected for and give us this trash.

If you're gonna try to go for mainstream appeal at least put out shyt that's catchy or listenable. This album is :trash: even by those standards.

it hurts me to say this because I'm a big fan of both Budden and Lupe, but this album reminds me of LASERS... the bars are there, but it's tough to even appreciate them because the beats and hooks are so fukkin wack and forced

however, there's still some good music on here

Royce and Joell stole the show on the mixtape, but Budden clearly outshined everyone on the album... he has multiple verses on here that I'd put as "Verse of the Year" contenders thus far

you can tell Em, as executive producer, put his stamp on the album... the corniness wreaks of Em

I kinda figured all this would be the case though when they dropped the tape and it was straight spittin... still disappointed that Budden, knowing this shyt was wack, said it's a "top 20 hip hop album of all time"

I really hope this is the last Slaughterhouse project we have to hear; I'm to the point where I can stand to hear Royce rap, dude literally talks about utter nonsense on the majority of tracks and ruins the vibe ... SLV >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Slaughterhouse; Budden needs to drop more shyt like Unison :lawd:
