At the end of the day, this was the best business decision. Hate it for Cody but he will get his chance to get both titles next year.

He'll be fine not main eventing and beating Roman this yr. Everyone swore his character was dead after losing last yr, then look, you put him in a program with somebody big and important right away, have it be interesting and have him win, and it doesn't matter, he stays super over.

Only problem is how they handled it this yr, he should've lost the Rumble and beaten a pretty important heel like Logan Paul or Gunther at Mania if they aren't turning Orton heel yet.

Still feels bizarre that they would have Cody use his royal rumble shot for a title he doesn't ACTUALLY want. He just said it. What was the point of burying the other title? and having Roman go out there and bury Seth and that title too?
Now it's like they'd have no choice but to do it. Maybe Rollins will come out and attack Cody now going heel, because they just basically buried him and his title all over tv in the main event of Smackdown

This story don't make sense to me What's the kayfabe reasoning behind Cody not wanting Roman at Mania?

Thats why Cody winning the Rumble was a bad idea imo. Rock vs Roman needs to main event and Cody's character can survive not main eventing if you pivot to something else big and important for him quickly.
