Does Cody make booking decisions? He's Dusty now? :heh:

All I know is that yesterday, he made clear that he is going after Roman and specifically the title he's holding...

Unless it is announced (which it most likely won't be) that he's wrestling Rollins at Mania instead, people are jumping the gun.

You're big on people "admitting they're wrong", right? Just give it a few weeks...

But im going back and forth with you when I forgot you already told me you don’t even watch the shows like that :russ:

Because when you pay attention to what's being said instead of the sound of your fingers typing, you tend to hear things differently :pachaha:

Cody said... he wants THAT title. The one Roman is holding, the one with the lineage dating back to he 60s.

He made clear that he is going for Roman.

...but not at Mania.

So he's not wrestling Seth for his title.

There is a show happening between now and Mania.

Are you listening to yourself? The first part is true... he wants Roman. But first let me get at Seth at WrestleMania. What? :mjlol: On what planet does that make sense from the story they've been telling?

Rock/Roman is marquee but they risk having it booed out the building if they aint careful

The vince scandal, punk injury and brock out all threw a wench in things

but pulling the rug out under cody at this point after tryna build him up for 2yrs is short sighted, they have 2 weeks to recourse before they write themselves into a corner

ideally rock/roman happens after cody/roman at mania, but if you insist on doing it this way theres a lot more creative ways to write it in without making cody look dumb or rock be perceived as someone flexing his board power to main event

No offense but you obviously haven't been paying attention to the television show. I'd hate to see your thoughts on something like 'True Detective' when you can't even follow a fukking wrestling program. :dead:

Apparently I've been paying attention to it way more than the people who think this means Cody's wrestling Seth or just not gonna challenge for any title at all anytime soon :pachaha:

He cut a whole promo last night making it clear that he's going for Roman with his Rumble victory, and then MFs heard the Rock's music and said to yourselves "CODY's not gonna get his title shot with Roman! :sadcam:

It's a weird way they're doing this... but it ain't the tragedy y'all want it to be. The tragedy is that y'all heard Rock say that "head of the table" shyt three weeks ago and told yourselves it wasn't gonna happen.

WHEN DID HE SAY he's wrestling Seth? He said the EXACT OPPOSITE. :mjlol: How you gonna say I'm not listening when "I want THAT title, i'm coming for you" just flew right past your head?

I do watch, been watching for 37 years in fact... and what's more important, I watched YESTERDAY and heard the man say CLEARLY that he wants Roman's title and is going for him. Y'all heard "but not at WrestleMania" and decided it wasn't happening at all. :heh:

When did I say The Rock vs. Roman "wasn't happening..." I saw the same tease as you did. But I also have been following the Cody "story" every step of the way including him pointing at Roman and calling his shot and confirming it at the press conference with reporters.

For some reason you don't want to acknowledge that Lol. I don't know or care if Cody is facing Seth at Mania. My post said that IF he did as some are saying in here.... it would make zero sense to the story they've been telling.

He said out of his own mouth last night "not at Mania...." when it comes to Roman. Well, he won the Royal Rumble which guarantees a shot at Mania. :mjlol:

What's the purpose of his Rumble victory then?

93 million miles above these devils
I mean, do we really want to unify the titles again? Has that ever really worked in the two show era? The first time in 2002 didn't last a full year. The run from 2013-16 was ass. The run from 2022 to last year was even more terrible.

You could always introduce a new one down the line. The gap between the latest unification and the new World Title was only a year. I was just speaking from the perspective of salvaging this particular situation. WWE have strapped the rocket to end all rockets on Cody for the last 2 years and he's actually delivered as much as I like the idea of Rock v Roman that all ends at Mania there's life beyond that and out of the 3 Cody's the only one who'll be there consistently so you've got to protect him and they made Cody come off as a fool.

Kayfabe wise challenging Seth is a no-win situation for him. He's beaten Seth multiple times since he's been back including a Hell in a Cell match with a torn pec. He wins and he's beat a cripple that he'd been whaling on anyway for the belt he doesn't really want, he loses then he's lost to a cripple.

He watched Roman take a shyt on the World Heavyweight Championship and didn't defend it, instead he defended Roman's title from Seth's attack on it, said he wants it and said he wants to take everything from Roman, him stepping aside for Rocky is character suicide. Either he doesn't believe that Rock will win and he'll get Roman down the line which begs the question of why he'd give that to a guy he doesn't believe in. If he does believe that Rock can take him down then why would he give someone else his kill?

There has to be something even bigger than beating Roman and what's bigger than unifying the titles? Cody's chase has been longer than Sting's at this point. You can't keep asking the fans to believe in this guy without either following through or raising the stakes.

The Rumble victory still ensures a title match...

You know they've done this before right? The time Cena did the surprise return at Rumble '08 and challenged Randy a month early?

It's possible that this is what they're doing or that it plays out some other way, but the fact is still in place that Cody IS going at Roman... this is all I'm saying.

I agree, Rock should have just won the rumble.

But now Cody looks dumb as hell stepping aside or sharing the match with Rock.

If he stepped aside and was challenging for the NWA World Title he never won then i’d say Ok….I get it. But that’s not the case.
Rock winning the rumble wouldn’t have been good either though. A cross generation matchup like this should not be for the belt and should not headline the biggest show of the year. Rock vs Hogan had no title on the line and didn’t go on last. Didn’t need to. Rock vs Cena didn’t need the belt and shouldn’t have gone on last because it didn’t need to. The only time the undertaker’s streak went on last was when the title was on the line & when it was HBK’s retirement match, Flair’s retirement match didn’t go on last and didn’t need to. The entire point of the rumble is to set up your top good guy to face your top bad guy or maybe like in 2001 to have your top two good guys face off. Think about the royal rumble winners from 1996-2010, after which we got a lot of bad rumble winners and one or two that never led to any payoff. These are many of the best rumble matches that had the best payoff:

1996: HBK wins and goes on to realize the boyhood dream
1997: heel Steve Austin cheats to win and sets up a career defining match with Bret Hart which supercharges Hart as well
1998: white hot babyface Steve Austin wins and the Austin era begins at WM14
1999: Vince wins and rulebook loopholes lead to Austin getting the title match. Vince Russo everyone
2000: Rock wins and he’s the hottest healthy face (yeah yeah I know his feet hit the floor before big show and they blew the spot)
2001: Austin wins to launch his comeback from spinal surgery
2002: Triple H wins to kickstart his comeback from a torn quadriceps tendon
2003: Brock Lesnar wins to get a rematch for the title Paul Heyman screwed him out of at survivor series
2004: Chris Benoit defies the odds and goes on to finally win the big one after an 18 year career
2005: Batista wins to set up his main event face turn and bring the idea of evolution full circle
2006: Rey Mysterio wins in tribute to Eddie Guerrero (we got a lot of dumb booking on his way to WM22)
2007: Undertaker becomes the first #30 to win the rumble and the seeds are planted for HBK vs Taker at WM25
2008: John Cena returns from a torn pec after just 3 months to go after his big rival who kicked his dad in the head.

It’s all pretty straightforward for the most part.
