shyt is pathetic. you would think that education would be unquestionably the number 1 priority in this country but schools have to scrape by on nothing and try to turn shyt to gold. my wife's principal seriously said the term "do more with less" as he told teachers they would be getting around $40 per year for extra school supplies the school cant provide. then they introduce this common core bullshyt to make it even harder on these kids. the whole situation is just disgusting.
White supremacy dictates that schools in areas with mainly darker skinned black people are for the most part shytty.

thats just a small part of the problem, the real problem is that "darker skinned black people" have a culture that is anti academic

and the way to stop white supremacy in black public schools is to destroy the current system and start with decentralized system, but fundamentally the issue of culture has to be addressed by black people, regardless of what white people are doing or thinking, the notion that white people hold to key to black education is itself a white supremacist notion

Its not a notion, its what happening. White supremacy is at the root of black people being anti academic.

Honestly i think the key to making black people pro academic is to make black people pro family which means the most important thing the black community should be doing right now is dramatically reducing the possibility that black women are raising children in a single parent homes.

I believe this is THE ONLY way to make black people pro academic in greater numbers.

I fundamentally disagree with this premise.
I think the seeds of anti-education in the black community is partly dude to the fact that some black people feel unless they are given what's due to them from slavery, they is no need in working.
Intellectual kids for most part are frowned upon and deemed not cool enough. This shyt only happens in all communities but I think it's on a different level in the black community.

Is there a people on the planet with an epidemic of single mothers, that are thriving academically?

There is an environment that creates someone who appreciates academics. First and foremost an environment of discipline, something a father brings to the household.

2 parent households change the entire landscape of a neighborhood.

After that the only thing hindering people from learning is rampant violence which sadly is caused by white supremacists need to devalue black neighborhoods by allowing drugs and drug dealers to destroy the neighborhood. Allowed.

250-500 job cuts in Newark public schools coming this year

Cami cuts 500 jobs | Bob Braun's Ledger

State-appointed Newark schools superintendent Cami Anderson is cutting some 500 jobs, including 200 teaching positions, 200 central office employees, and nearly 100 non-instructional workers, including clerks and aides. The resulting layoffs will follow tenure and seniority laws and regulations despite Anderson’s apparently failed effort to obtain permission from the state to ignore seniority.

Sources within both the Newark Teachers Union (NTU) and the central office confirmed the job cuts but stressed the actual number of men and women who will be fired is likely to be fewer because of retirements, resignations, and already vacant positions.

In an email to NTU members, John Abeigon, the union’s director of organization, said Newark Public Schools representatives met with union leaders to depict a “worst case scenario” that included the dismissal of 104 non-tenured teachers who, Gianni said, already had received their notice of layoff letters. Abeigon said 93 non-instructional positions would be eliminated.

Meanwhile, Vanessa Rodriguez, Anderson’s chief labor relations aide, called in central office staff and said as many as 200-300 positions would be eliminated—but, again, the actual number of persons affected is likely to be lower. One meeting participant as many as hurtful to long-term employees who had to stand by this and watch while Anderson hired scores of new outsiders and gave them extraordinarily high salaries–about a dozen of whom now make $175,000 or more and that’s the governor’s salary.

Anderson is working on a special project for the Aspen Institute to increase the number of young top staff members.

“It was very matter of fact,” said one person at the meeting, “She told us the people laid off would be gone by August. I’ve never seen morale this law.”

If the numbers hold, the scope of the layoffs is smaller than originally feared. Earlier this year, union leaders expressed fear as many as 700 teachers might be laid off this year. Anderson herself has told some media she wanted to cut a third of the teaching staff.

NPS officials had steadfastly denied reports here that Anderson’s request for permission to ignore seniority rules had neither been withdrawn nor denied. A spokesman for Acting Education Commissioner David Hespe said no action had yet been taken on the elaborate, 100-page request for a waiver of seniority rules. Anderson wanted to use the new teacher evaluation system to determine which teachers would be fired.

All that money went to the Mob and their political bagmen :francis: You want to donate in Jersey you need to put the teachers, janitors, cooks, book manufacturers, school supply firms on YOUR payroll and pay them directly. Never ever ever trust Jersey CACs :francis:

What happened for this thread to be bumped?
Chance the rapper donation to Chicago public schools.
I think it's folks here who are waiting to see if Chance's donation will go to waste. I'm rooting for this. I hope it goes well and others will follow suit. Not only here in Chicago but world wide. The only other person I can think of doing something like this was Akon and that was like what, five years ago if not more. It's so many people in the industry with money to spare to do things like this. Why can't these lucrative people do this for their communities they came from?

Like who? Celebs do stuff all the time. They don't have a choice. Either throw money at charity or let taxes take it

The Land That Time Forgot
The annual Newark school budget to educate 35,000 kids is about $840 million dollars.

I never understood how an extra $20 million or $40 million (with matching funds) private donation a year
was supposed to "transform" the entire city education system with tens of thousand of mostly
poor kids?

Mark Zuckerberg's 5-year donation added up to approx an extra 2 percent annually of Newark's
general education fund.

In comparison, let's say you are making $40,000 a year. Your boss offers you a 2 percent increase for next year, or an $800 dollar raise.

Would your $40,000 life be suddenly "transformed" by an extra 800 dollars?

Its nice to have some extra dollars, but c'mon.

Yea u right; I guess I should have been more specific and said put money directly into cps. There are a number of charities here that benefit in numerous ways. My bad, looking back my statement was kinda rushed.
