TYRONE GA!
I been telling yall what Duke do because my connections. They give the Black and white players access to the wealthy alums and they don't mind giving them business partnerships once they graduated or otherwise leave school. It's basically, a guaranteed means to wealth. That means a lot to any kid and his family. It's like a lottery ticket and all benefit. Not just the stars but the scrubs too. Laettner and Davis made 9 figures post Basketball. Duke is really a legit brotherhood. You not a slave at Duke like all of the public schools which only care about you while you there.

As long as Duke is like this, it will always dominate recruiting and kids will want to go there.

This is all coach K. He realized that kids want success and not just on the court and since alums are giving and love the team, this has been happening of late. That's while the players former and current are so vested into the program

And I know nikkaz wanna hate, but I have ZERO problems with this. Duke plays the long game and they convince these athletes and their families to do the same. I ain't even mad. :yeshrug:

All schools could do it but most alums don't give a shyt about the athletes and some dont want to fukk with them outside of the sport alone. Duke specifically recruits a certain type of kids that fits that mold. If you notice, the kids that go to Duke usually went to prep school, great students, well rounded, and have other aspirations other than Basketball.

They have an alum base that looks at all Dukies the same to a degree. Meaning your degree isn't worth less than mines regardless of race. Duke is Duke. That's not how most treat their alums, it's usually very racial and clickish. But honestly, they get it because its Duke Basketball and they have just a lot more funds than everyone else. Of course nothing like UT or A&M but those schools don't give a shyt about their negros outside of maybe Vince

The NCAA needs to pay their players a salary. They generate enough money to do it. Even if its something like 50000/yr thats enough for kids to live comfortably and not have to beg for extra meatballs on their fukkin spaghetti.

I'm a million percent in with paying the players.. but thats not gonna stop the cheating.

UNLV coach: You'll get the 50k for every year that you're here, and you'll get a chance to stay home, and play in front of your family and friends.

Kansas coach: 50k? Thats all? How far do you think 50k is gonna take you? We'll match you that 50k, throw in another 250k under the table, as well as a car, home and job for your mom and dad.

There will always be corruption. And the only way to do away with it is to death row these cheating ass institutions.

FYI: Duke DOES pay players #1. I'm 100% positive that Elton brand took money and so did a dude named Casey Sanders (from Ft Lauderdale in the early 2000's). I don't know how much, but I know.

Recruiting changed in the late 2000s early 2010s due to Coach Cal. Recruiting has gotten creative as hell and more scandalous to say the least in Basketball where players are worth so much

It's not "corruption" if they allow it. Put a cap on what the school can pay players but imo they should be free to get whatever endorsement money from whoever (or if they so wish they can have a list of reputable companies/businesses that have pre-approval in which the athletes can accept endorsements from). Ultimately the market will determine their value (word to Adam Smith's Invisible Hand). Also there's the concept of diminishing marginal utility. A player may very well choose to play for their hometown team or for a certain school for less money than elsewhere. It happens in pro sports all the time.
