Also he doesnt take 1000 3's a game which is a good thing. The main issue I have with today's NBA is not the rule changes , the lack of defense , etc those are secondary issues. It's the constant jacking up of 3's. Aesthetically pleasing midrange game that required skill. GONE. Camping in the corner to jack up 3's. RAMPANT.

No goofy shyt. No be my friend shyt. No clout chasing. Just raw and balling. Derrick Rose was Zion a decade ago. Let's hope Zion is blessed to be able to carry tradition for the next 15 years.

But tomorrow I'm going to hear how Dennis Rodman was a 1990s great. :mjlol:

Players like Shaq and Barkley were FULL of antics in the 1990s and loved the spotlight, but we gonna pretend all 1990s stars were "no nonsense", bring-your-lunchpail to work types?

I see where this is going. :mjpls:

I mean... could you imagine if Zion actually went hard physically :francis:

I honestly think he be going light on nikkas sometimes
I think he's still taking a while to get up to game speed. It's not that he's trying to go easy, it's just that he's only been around 15 games and is still a split-second too slow to really take it to guys (not slow to jump or react, but slow to make a decision with the ball). Probably some point around midway next season you're gonna see him make a leap and become more confident and aggressive with it.

Yup...

Bron ushered in an era of banana boat bullshyt that he is now trying to redeem himself from..
Bron taught all stars to lay on the ground at the all star games- literally- after Kobe retired.. now we got some competitive fire back in the league and Bron even trying to play with that edge.. basketball about to change for the better
It's pretty incredible the amount of power and influence you haters credit to Bron. You want to say he's not a leader and then you turn around and credit him with not only leading his teammates, but literally running the entire fukking league the way he wants and forcing everyone to be a follower. When would you say LeBron took over the league to the point that all the stars were following his example and not Kobe's?

Also, it's only a coincidence because in reality the dumb shyt you talk about has nothing to do with Kobe or LeBron, but Kobe's retirement was when the All-Star Game actually got GOOD. The last four all-star games without Kobe have all been fire, the most competitive of my lifetime, and LeBron's been the captain of the winning team all four times. Also, the first finals after Kobe retired was one of the most competitive Finals ever and had all sorts of edge and competitive fire to it to the point where even four years later none of those guys are fukking with each other.

These Kobe vs. Bron, "this era is soft", "players can't be friends" narratives are just clown shyt. All of these stars are among the best to ever do it and had to be competitive as fukk to even be here. You could have all the physical gifts and skill in the world and you still might just be Andrew Wiggins. To be a superstar you HAVE to have a competitive fire, and anyone trying to take that away from them is a fool.

He plays defense. That's some 90s shyt bro.
:dwillhuh:

Zion is a horrible defender breh. Like really really bad. :gucci:

Then again, for the first half of the 1990s defense was terrible, so you might be on to something. :lolbron:

1st Quarter

0:33 Zion is playing way off of Kuzma, Kuzma drives and Zion does...what? He sorta hops around in place and does NOTHING, Kuzma scores a layup like they're playing in the rookie/sophomore game. Announcer, "Kuzma gets past Williamson easily and slams it home."

1:05 Bradley drives inside, Zion doesn't close to the hoop or do anything, McGee gets the ball and Zion is further from the basket than anyone else, McGee dunks easily without Zion even trying to help

1:09 Danny Green finds Zion on him as he's going down court, DANNY fukkING GREEN decides to manhandle Zion and even shoulders him on purpose before scoring an easy, uncontested layup. Announcer, "And Zion gets beat again, by Danny Green this time."

1:40 Bradley gets the ball open after a defensive blunder, Zion comes off of Kuzma and sorta halfway commits to closing on Bradley with a lazy shuffle-step, wide-open Kuzma cuts and Bradley under zero pressure tosses an easy pass to him for another open slam. Announcer sarcastically, "And nice defense there by the Pelicans."

3:43 Zion was on the bench for six minutes, after he comes back in LeBron finds Zion switched onto him after a missed shot. You can see his eyes light up, LeBron does some dribbling just for fun and then takes his body right into Zion, pushing him under the basket and scoring an easy left-handed layup.

4:00 Kuzma finds himself isolated against Zion and you can just see him ready to eat. He backs up and then drives right at Zion, spins off of his body, drops in the easy close-range teardrop and-1 with the foul too. That's 11 points right at the hoop that Lakers players scored on Zion already and we're just 2 minutes into the 2nd quarter.

In there are also a bunch of transition baskets where over and over you see the Lakers scoring while Zion is either the last one back or isn't even in the picture.

He's a terrible one-on-one defender. He has zero help defense (just 11 steals and 5 blocks so far in 15 games). He has no transition defense. He doesn't know how to switch yet. All of his advanced stats on defense are terrible. By absolutely any way you measure it, Zion is a BAD defender.

Now, he's still young, he has room to grow. But anyone peddling the narrative that Zion plays hard on defense is full of shyt.
