facts

I get why people do it. It's short sighted but the intention is good.

it actually limits the demographics. I want a Black owned and made product or service but not JUST FOR Black people. I want it to compete with everyone else and I think that's the point.

if im black and see there is a market opp to make durags for chinese monkeys Im doing it. Im not gonna frame the business as “this the black owned chinese monkey durag company”, Im just going to do it. People show their hand for no reason thats why “black business” gets viewed as charity more so than a business meeting the needs of a market.

Honestly fukk google and it’s bald head son YouTube

this only hurts the platform although they don’t see it now ... and is meant to drive kid friendly channels away so that kids can spend money on games and other for profit by google enterprises ...

They should learn from McDonalds keep kids interested in your product and they support you as adults.

Serious question:
Why arent Youtubers or parents or anyone really doing a class action lawsuit against Youtbe for lying about targeting advertising to minors and lying in their terms of service

Whys everyone sitting on their fukking thumbs :dahell:

They did, they were fined 170 million dollars by the FTC which is why this heat came up for them....YT said it wasn't collecting data on children, but the FTC checked and they were in fact collecting children's data without the consent of their parents and using that data to send ads to those children....

lmfao why do prople always do this idiotic “blackify” approach to existing products. “Black tube” “black book” “blackstagram”
:russ::mjlol:

No other group does or has to do this stuff. When you comeout with product like that its already seen as a joke. Simply create a platform that you control and let that he it. No need for the emotional pandering.

the only time it makes sense to racially or ethnically target a market is for skin and healthcare as the problem space can be specific in that manner.

I've argued with friends about this countless times. Why would you put black in the company name when offering a competing business? All it does it make your brand look weak and limiting.
imagine if bevel called themselves black shave. How lame would that be?

:francis:

they don’t give af about no kids
They don't give a fukk they are getting the big corporate dollars and threw smaller creators under the bus. They are the ones assed out. I see al ot of the video game and hobbiest channels falling by the way side due to this.

Thats a government fine
Im talking about a lawsuit by users

Well I am not sure about individuals, but in this case the children's advocacy groups probably thought it best to make a complaint with the FTC rather than fight Google and YouTube alone...

Exactly it's a business no one is arguing that it isn't. That is the reason so many people have become full time youtubers and trying to make a living out of it. It's not exclusive to small channels either. People like Logan Paul has mainly a kid audience and sells merch does all the sh!t they are cracking down on. I don't like the cac, but it will be interesting to see if he continues business as usual while others don't.

Like any other business it comes a time when they must pivot to survive or perish. it doesn't change the fact that google/youtube knew they were breaking the law for years and didn't enforce any of the rules until they got fined by the government and used it's creators as the fall guys. I do agree there is seedy element on youtube but they are a minority and should be targeted.

But this may be a good thing maybe Twitch or Vimeo steps it up or a new platform emerges to compete. There is definitely money to be made it will be interesting to see how you tube looks in the following years.

I always find it refreshing when something is black owned and operated and I didn't explicitly know that from the name of the business name.

I be like "oh shyt, we in here...!"

Theres a spot in ATL called Sublime donuts. Owned by a breh. Dude gets a ton of praise from magazines and actually just starred in a Chase small business commercial. If he wanted to name it “Black Power Donuts” im sure that would be cool but dude is simply meeting a market need. He hires a ton of black people and I believe has some locations in Thailand now.
