So you're saying America should be more like small hegemonious white countries?
Cause that works when the majority of people can agree on issues, but you need a different approach when you have a gang of different ethnic groups trying to coexist. You have to force a consensus, which, ironically, we're seeing the left trying to do now by "deplatforming" (censoring) their opponents. Once you fail at censoring your opponents (because Streisand effect) then the guillotine comes out. And as we've already seen the left is more than willing to play fast and loose with words to mar their ideological opponents.
I can see that to some extent. I think "socialist" countries work best if that is all you know. Coming from more capitalist countries I think most of us would find living there too restrictive. Saying that, IMO Sweden isn't too bad.
I am not a fan of de-platforming breh. I'd actually like to discuss it more and get more intelligent opinions but I am surrounded by bird-brains in real life so it ain't gonna happen.
You and "breh-literalist" seem to view this as left vs right which is somewhat understandable given the state of the USA at the moment.
Watch this video to get an insight as to how we think about these things and how we do not default to ideological political positions when discussing a-political principles.
Note Neil is right wing and as that has nothing to do with the inquiry it he does not lead with that and furthermore that does not inform his line of questioning.
IMO as Chris Rock said (paraphrased) "Left vs Right default positioning is stupid". He said it quite a few years ago as well.
Watch the video - forget the fact that it is Ben for a minute.
First few sentences "radical left", "leftist" bombs...
