I dug both of the movies you listed...I'm super pumped for the IT theatrical remake. And I'm also excited for Showtime adapting Under the Dome and HBO adapting The Dark Tower Series.

...other dope King "horror" movies IMO include Pet Semetary, The Mist, Carrie, and then The Stand and The Dead Zone, which are kind of on the fringe of being horror.

His best movies are the ones that can't really be classified as horror....like The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Misery, Apt Pupil, and Stand by Me.

I always have a hard time getting into the shining. Anyone read the book? i know king hated the movie.

The book is SO much worse than the movie, it really isn't fair to compare the two. All the stuff going on in Jack's mind really doesn't transfer to the screen and there's a lot of stuff going on that they just couldn't put in the movie, like when the little boy gets molested by the undead old lady and what really happened to the two little girls......:why:

Stephen King is a truly FUKKED-UP individual.

Back on-topic:

1. Salem's Lot
2. The Shining
3. Carrie
4. It
5. Creepshow

Honorable Mention: The Mangler

For any book heads..
What King books have you read that you'd like to see turned into a movie (assuming they'd hit it out the park) and give a brief run down on the book/story

I am hoping that they don't fukk up Under The Dome and Cell when they finally get them made.

Under The Dome
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.

Cell
Cell is an apocalyptic horror novel published by American author Stephen King in 2006. The story follows a New England artist struggling to reunite with his young son after a mysterious signal broadcast over the global cell phone network turns the majority of his fellow humans into mindless vicious animals.
