It's crazy how nikkas be hating on em. Both sslp and mmlp were flames.
SSlp was better but this was one of the albums i could put in and ride to when i was 20/21.

blew my mid the first time i heard it, then i grew up and realised its kinda not that dope. what saves it though is that em is a virtuoso MC and can play with words and rhythm at a high level. however, as a thought provoking piece of art, it doesn't stand up to time. what is it about when you break it down? its a shock album. its whiney about race. its spiteful, not understanding of his mother and Kim. he should have shown empathy towards his crazy mama and annoying girl. plus its pop culture references, like britney and boy bands, like who cares. album was basically made for spoilt brat kids who think they are cool cause they hate pop music.

SSLP is the only em album thats holds up brehs. and his new stuff ilke Recovery is better. at least to me. but no doubt em crashed pop culture like few before.

actually, its how black home life/street life, how black male power navigates its rise from the bottom and the new challenges that bring. granted its intertwined with a lot of braggadocio but hey, thats hip hop. there is humanity there. momma loves me. song cry. jay looking for forgiveness and giving thanks to those helped him and those he did wrong. em just hating on his peoples in a way that as u get older cannot be defended. its music for whiny teenagers. and u can't dance to that ish. its literally like a buzz saw to ya head.

look, i loved the album when i was younger, and used t roll my eyes at all the people getting mad at it. but as i got older, i now find myself agreeing with the uncool naysayers. even the homophobia, the way he delights in taunting gay people. that album is just all types of wrong. but remember this was the era of limp biz kit and angry white kids, so that probably why it was a hit. like i said also, recovery is a more humanistic em, and will probably hold up better even if it didn't get as much hype.

em is actually a very powerful man similar to bruce springsteen, a lot of male cacs look up ti dude, especial poor ones outthere in the midwest. i am surprise obama aint go after his endorsement.

I was like 8 when it first came out so I didnt really react much to it. I didnt understand Hip Hop like I do now. But fast forward 8 years, back in 2008, when I was 16, I couldn't believe how technically precise and creative Eminem was. He used to phrase his bars so meticulously that I used to wonder how could he condense everything like that. You would think his cadence wouldnt fit with the beat. But it did and that was impressive to me.

Em had that heat in the early 2000s. Relapse was mad underrated in my opinion, but Recovery was so sugary I couldnt drink Kool-Aid for a month.
