why not simply take the blame then and turn himself in for the crime when they were at the police station?

He maybe could have, but it would not have made sense because as the show went on, it would have been clear that the evidence wouldn't have lined up..... he was literally and verifiably present in court the day/time of the hit and run..... thought it would have been easier to try to cover it up

It is completely relevant..... cause, you wouldn't understand what sacrifice truly meant unless you had some... even the crime boss made a statement in the show that it freed him in a fukked up way when his son died, because now he truly gives absolutely less fukks than he did before to maintain his family.....

If this is your argument, maybe it flies in the face of the idea that she was being self righteous as she has no idea the lengths a parent would go to, to protect their children.

But I don't buy that when it comes to the judge, he was always out to protect his own ass in my opinion. Before he learned who the victim's father was, he was fine with turning his son in. But once the judge realized that decision could spell death for himself, he had a change of heart.

This argument is in stark contrast with your former position.

...and if he was so worried about his own ass, why did he take the blame, or tell the lawyer chick to say it was him instead of his son? I see you didn't answer the part about having kids.....

Further illustrating that he only "took the blame" once he was caught red handed, already having concluded that no one but Adam could be responsible. He even tried to manipulate her in that moment when prodding her to call the police, hoping that her feelings for him would cloud her judgement.

You want it to be about a father doing anything to protect his son because that's what you would do. You're another person on the very long list of people the judge has fooled.

It doesn't fly in the face of her being self righteous because anybody can play self righteous when they don't have to sacrifice, suffer or walk in your shoes.... sheeiitt.... there are entire forums on this site built on that very premise when discussing crackas.....

The argument that she was being self righteous requires us to ignore all of the victims of the judge "protecting his son"

no it doesn't..... and that's the point..... she didn't see his son being a victim even though he would've been suffered a horrible brand of vigilante justice which would have been unjust....... can't have it just your way....and wanna be labeled as righteous or compassionate even..... and the irony is, in the entire TV show her brand of justice didn't help anyone or accomplish shyt.....

I don't think it's fair to say that she didn't see Adam as a victim, but most people tend to rank things according to severity and while Adam is definitely a victim in all of this, he killed someone, ran, had his father cover it up which led to completely innocent people being murdered. Her client was murdered, her client's family's home was blown up leaving the child who was "lucky" enough to be away from home at the time orphaned and later adopted by a street gang.

Empathizing with the judge after learning that he's responsible for the chain of events leading up to those disasters is frankly unrealistic and it's wild to even contemplate that she was being self righteous in that moment.
