Good point because top management wants to limit extreme OT. That's higher labor wages they have to pay and not the best for the bottom line. Its ideal for those who want/need the extra dough...but from a top management standpoint...it isn't good unless the company has to get products/services early to the customer.

Not always, there's a lot of management that would prefer to run a shytload of OT...30%+ rather than add to headcount, because they don't want to incur the additional medical benefits, especially if said employee has family.

For me, it comes down to work life balance. 9 out of 10 employees would like to do their 8 and skate. It burns people out...and personally I don't want burnt out employees on my team. Leads to accidents, quality of service and other unnecessary horseshyt.

But I've said too much.

3rd party agencies and vendors do this all the time. It's only acceptable if part of your salary is a hefty commission with few contingencies or caps.

Union jobs don't work a min more than you have

Non union jobs

Im a union breh and that OT is nice but it is a drug just like alcohol and weed. I know nikkas that cut their vacation short because the foreman called about OT. Like straight up left his fam at the hotel like drop me off at the greyhound yall have fun

:russ:

Now if u single and no kids stack that shyt up but i got a family so i balance it out so i dont end up missing out or finding some new nikka in your bed when u get home. I also budget myself for 40 hours so i dont get stuck with extra bills like alot of people i work with. 70hrs a week ot isnt sustainable or guaranteed so when it gets cut u got people sukkin dikk for OT like its crack

When I worked at a hospital as an emergency phone operator, we were sometimes mandated when someone called out or was on vacay and no one signed up to do double shifts for that time and a half check.

Never happened albeit I was there for a yr. only. someone always volunteered.

When I had no responsibilities such as a kid/family I didn’t give af if a job had mandatory overtime. I’d work any chance I got for extra bread.

Once I had a family that shyt came to a halt. Started looking at employers like :mjtf: When overtime came up. Hard enough finding childcare options during reg business hours, now you want to burden me even more??

USA isn’t set up for families. Corporations want you to work work work but don’t provide alternatives for childcare.

America is built for the childless
