I don't see this ever happening as I work for a bank but if it did, they would be paying me to ride the clock. I'm okay with that.
I don't understand this thinking. We're supposed to work to live. Not live to workI used to love working mandatory OT and always volunteer for OT.
They pay 1.5 time the rate some dudes I know would work 6 days or 7 days for 12 hour to 16 hour shifts in a week and make more than the managers and supervisors.
They'd be racking in 3k and 4k checks after taxes 90k and 100k or more a year.
I remember that job they said only the strongest of the strong survive and you'd spend more time at work than at home. People thought they were joking during the orientation lol
I can't spend the majority of my time at work.I don't understand this thinking. We're supposed to work to live. Not live to work
*takes off doo rag and clips toenails*
To think we actually do that shyt during the week...I can't spend the majority of my time at work.
Ain't hapoenin'

It's not all it's cracked up to be. Especially if you got a girl or family. You never get to see them. When do see them you dead fukkin tired and don't feel like doing shiit. If you a young nikka, I say go for it.It depends on the job but if the job wasn't stressful, draining, and brain fryin....then it would be dope.
Can u imagine u racking up huge checks and just being able to repair ur car, pay off debt, have fun (if u get a day off), turn up, pay bills with ease and no worryin, putting money aside and actually saving, and just buying shyt that u want and not having to worry....it would be GOAT to me....of course depending on the job because u gotta think about the non cost related issues that can arise from overworking urself or working a stressful job
This is also true. But that man is living an unfulling life all the way around. he's using work to escape his family. Thats a terrible way to live.My old managers at that warehouse job would call people like yall "lazy", "as people who didn't like money", "what better do you to do than be at work", "how are you going to spend time at home more constructive half of yall be jacking off, playing video games and pissing away your money on liquor", and "your burning good money away on the table".
I remember one dude at my job used to always come in for OT he'd be like:
Whats the point of having a day off to listen to my wife bytch around the house and try to get me to go out to spend money. Or to listen to my loud as kids make noise all damn day and have to take them out too. If I'm at home I can't even sleep and I'd probably be out shopping, eating, or going out wasting money. fukk A DAY off I'd rather be here earning money.
There used to be people MAD if they didn't get a minimum of 60 hrs a week in Overtime many preferred doing 70-80 hrs.
I feel u. I agree we do need balance in life but its ideal for a young person who don't have kids/spouse or a person who could use the extra money. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Especially if you got a girl or family. You never get to see them. When do see them you dead fukkin tired and don't feel like doing shiit. If you a young nikka, I say go for it.
Yeah I understand having a wife and kids at home can be a financial responsibility and if the wife doesn't work...can be a huge burden...but that life is depressing and work is his outlet. That's a depressing lifestyle there. This is also true. But that man is living an unfulling life all the way around. he's using work to escape his family. Thats a terrible way to live.

"the 40 hours you gave ain't enough. Be here bright and early on Saturday"
"Got plans with your family? Tough. You better be here"
Good point because top management wants to limit extreme OT. That's higher labor wages they have to pay and not the best for the bottom line. Its ideal for those who want/need the extra dough...but from a top management standpoint...it isn't good unless the company has to get products/services early to the customer. Some jobs, you just have to work OT...is what it is.
Now if you're consistently working more than 10% OT that's bad management and unless you want the extra bread, I would look to leave.
