You made a sweeping generalization, untrue at that, that involved me. How could I not? If I made a comment about all women, it would be weird for me to be upset about you commenting. Talk about weird behavior. You seem pressed about something.

Probably hasnt even really been a real thing amongst new hires for many years now. When factoring in existing wages of the older generations then yeah sure. Otherwise the difference was likely nominal at best

the wage gap still exists, part of it is punishment for having kids/needing to be the primary caregiver, one part is self-inflicted - salary negotiations and salary asks. there are multiple points and way in which the gap manifests

I was just about to ask, "What happened to the wage gap?"

I saw this and was curious how much of this works into all of this. The lack of not saving for the future is very interesting in light of all this stuff. I'm curious if the average applies to these areas as well.

Will those women willingly pair with men that earn less than them, if so, will the men feel comfortable with that arrangement?

I personally wouldn't be comfortable in a relationship where a woman out-earns me, even if we were perfectly compatible in all other areas.
