Part of building those relationships is establishing trust, and boundaries, a kind of comfort and ease. This is how people are turned or flipped. You notice he confides in them, and vents to them, about his "homies", "you know how much they paid me for that?! (the implication is he feels wronged)

He feels these people understand him, and they do, even if it's at a more anthropological level than his "real homies".

I need to watch more, but I can't understand him as well as I would like, and I keep getting distracted by the detectives looks lol
