I know the gang injunctions have made it so that people can't congregate in certain known gang zones or they will be immediately arrested and charged w/ associating w/ gang members.

I was off on the amount of NYC murders. I may have mixed the NYC #'s with LA's (that's my bad). LA gets the 'nod' b/c their brand of gangbanging has spread nation-wide and is adopted in nearly ever single city other than Chicago. More or less LA is living off the past and what the Mexican Mafia is doing today.

319 murders in a city of 8-10 Million + is very very safe. Truth is both LA and NYC are very safe cities...hell, so is Chicago as long as you stay downtown and the northside. And some of the worst gang-controlled neighborhoods in the Chi look classy compared to what Detroit looks like.
