black love, unity, and music
The irony is that cac brands nikkas wore back in the 90's literally depended on nikkas dollars. :mjgrin:When nikkas stopped wearing Girbaud in the mid to late 2000's (I'm from the Bay, which was one of the last hold outs for Girbauds) them French cacs went bankrupt and tried to say we didn't want nikkas wearing our shyt anyways after the fact. Cac owned Avirex pretty much died and became a Sears brand after nikkas stopped wearing the leathers. Fubu bought Coogi in the early 2000's even though Coogi was an Australian cac brand because Biggie put on Coogi on the map. Truth is that Jay Z made much more money from Rocawear than they did their music. Even Dame said you ain't gone get wealthy and stay wealthy off music alone. But these high end Italian brands don't need black folk business, especially when it come to rap nikkas from the hood, and carried Dolph the way they did for a reason. :usure:
This is a lie. Camron revealed Jay got less than 5% of the Rocawear brand. The majority of that money went to cacs.

the modern hip.hop uniform is based off asap

some young uptown/uptXwn nikkas

they directly or indirectly are styling the ot nikkas with the best fits

& even when it comes to brands from designers from our hoods it's gonna pop here cause the design schools are here too

of course you have some older cats that stick to what they know & look crazy but you will find more of that ot wherever you are at than here

it's just a matter of history geography & economics living in nyc your access & exposure to all types of fly shyte is different

it's always a short hop from the hood to the world's best shopping districts design schools yadda yadda yadda

London has had a huge hand in influencing fashion breh, this Athle-leisure shyt is our shyt. Asap is also heavily influenced by our style, the nicca lives here.

because you know what you're getting with some of these brands - you go to your China tailor and shyt be torn up after 4 wears. Lining falling out the jacket. Jeans bleeding on your clothes.l:beli:

They rockin Euro brands Sergio Tachini or Diadora which where being worn over here before they got to NYC in the 80s. Besides this current Athleisure trend is a straight rip off mandem attire, like a lot of it comes from us dressing like that when we go run errands :steviej:or go play football in Nike and Adidas tracksuits but with our kit underneath ready to play in. Brands peeped that, jacked it and now sell it at stupid prices
