Wrong. The entirety of NYC has been riding off of Harlem's notoriety for being fly. Outside of Manhattan most of yall dress like shyt. Brooklyn, The Bronx and Queens were known for dusty Carhartt jackets and army fatigues not Liberace furs and other high end fly shyt like uptown and even then once Kanye debuted harlem's influence on urban fashion became less and less prominent. And in this internet age no city is behind another in terms of fashion because most cats regardless of hometown dress like crap. Pharrell, Lupe, and Kanye had the biggest impact on this generation.
If yall have access to all this different positive shyt like design schools and better education why do you insist on adopting gang culture from other cities and risk jail time. Other places like Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and Memphis engage in that shyt from a place of deprivation New Yorkers on the other hand live in some of the safest neighborhoods in the country and have a surplus of alternatives to street life and yet yall choose to live out your little Boyz In Da Hood fantasies.
