That label had no chance without Jay that’s why Dame didn’t take Jay offerThe bottom line is that Jay-Z felt he outgrew the situation. It's really not much deeper than that. We all have friends, business relationships and jobs we outgrow but people have such a huge attachment to the Roc that they're not willing to accept it. The most painful thing about the situation is that everyone else got caught up in and lost because of it. I kinda wished Jay had just walked away from Rocafella, left everything and started his own situation the same way Dre did Death Row because maybe everyone else would have had a fighting chance if Dame still kept Rocafella with Beans & State Property and Dipset but ultimately Dame and Biggs also decided to sell the company as well so they profited.
Nonetheless, Dame should stop talking about this.

the south and 50 rose. Dusty ass east coast cats were played out by 2005
In the bigger picture, 50 was done after 2005 too. GRODT the movie was the peak of his fame. The ground shifted under all of their feet. Jay pivoted. And had the money and status to keep going. Free and Beanie Sigel and the YG's put out dope albums between 2005 and 2007 but it just wasn't going ot be the same.
I think 50's mistake was burning himself out and oversaturated himself. He flat out gave too much material to Game, Banks, Buck, Yayo and G-unit. He essentially had 7 albums worth material out there with just two solo albums and that's not even including the mixtapes.
He oversaturated himself to the point where by 07, people were tired of him, the game shifted and he had no way to really recover. He was still a platinum artist but those first couple of singles off Curtis were BAD, amusement park and straight to the bank didn't work and if it wasn't for "I get money" which he dropped at the final hour, that album really might have been cooked.
All true, but to some degree, in 2006, NONE of what worked in 2005 and 2004 worked anymore right? Banks, Buck had solid follow ups. It didn't help that he seemed dead creatively and totally cynical.
The entire game was transitioning. Auto tune. Kanye. It was a new era, just wasn't quite apparent.
Is he always this bad?? First time watching himMath is terrible at this always

Why you say that?Jay a billionaire yet I will always relate to him on this shyt. I fw all of state prop and most of them been active rapping for years, but my goodness Chris ain’t done shyt in YEARS
Nah. Chris seemed like he was on the J Cole path. He made plenty of solo records and mixtapes. Just couldn't get them to drop his album. I have no idea how Freeway got his second album released.Jay told him to go solo. Chris made the wrong choice sticking with the group.
