He could always shoot, it was never true that he couldn't shoot, it's just his shooting wasn't his strong suit and was weak initially, and gradually became stronger. But he always showed the ability to hit long j's, j's off the dribble, pull up j's, catch and shoot j's, all of it...

It was never true that he "couldn't" do these things...

He was a high volume three point shooter especially for his era.

He took deep ones in transition, off the dribble, off the hesi hang dribble.

His range was like up to 25-28 feet…really a few feet behind the line which was crazy for that era.

He didn’t take 30 footers or make Logo threes or half court shots like LeBron though.

That wasn’t his range lol, that’s just where his dumb ass was chucking them from lol. J Will pulling those types of shots is why Bobby Jackson was closing out games and he ended up getting shipped out for Mike Bibby.

Baron Davis is another guy who used to pull all kinds of senseless threes from long range in that era too, but he had no business taking them either lol. Don’t even let me get started on some of the ones Antoine Walker used to throw up there.
