Bruce wanted to kill superman because of the chance that he could wipe out humanity correct?

So what changes upon learning he has a mother?

He thinks Supes has zero attachment to the planet or the human race and is in fact completely detached from human life, which is his reason for believing that he could turn on us any time. It's not just learning Supes has a mother, but that he has a legitimate fear for her life, which breaks Batman's entire conception of what he thinks Superman is. That's what stops him from killing Supes, after which he learns Lex was the one manipulating him thus realizing Supes had been set up as much as he was. It's not that difficult, breh.

i can understand holding a grudge immediately after the zod fight but once the mystery is over and a few years pass, and it's clear this guy is just using his power to do good, save people from harm, and prevent disasters... why would bruce still suspect he is a threat?

It wasn't a few years, it was only 18 months after superman's introduction and the destruction of Metropolis.

Yes he's been saving people for a few months but that isnt really enough time to figure out if this all powerful alien is actually good or if he's just trying to play god over a helpless planet.

The only thing on batman's mind is that aliens invaded earth and one is acting like this is his planet.

Upon hearing about superman's human mother and seeing his fear for her life, superman becomes more human in batman's eyes.
