I fukk with metal more than I fukk with any other genre. I like doom, sludge and black metal the best

I'm currently listening to the new Triptyicon, Stoneburner, Origin, Mounrful Congregation, Mayhem, Lycus (not really new, but my favorite Doom band of all last year), Indian (this shyt is amazing...very inaccessible though), eyehategod, down, and that new agalloch

I'll just put that Indian out there cuz I love it so much

Ima look into it.

I didn't get this tag at all (didn't see it until now). But currently I'm fukking with the new eyehategod real heavy. I got the new COC on my phone, Down, godhunter, Indian (yeah, I'm calling them sludge). I like the classics too though (acid bath, buzzov*en, etc). Sludge is definitely one of my favorite sub-genres. I like doom in general, and I call sludge a subset of doom.

Edit: I'm listing to that new YOB right now ("Clearing the Path to Ascend"). Real good sludge breh. Highly recommended

That Pantopicon has really grown on me. I like it a lot. Still prefer Kentucky though.

Everybody is into the new Pallbearer. I am not. I loved the first Pallbearer album. But what the fukk happened? I don't even consider them doom anymore. They're like classic doom if anything. I dunno why the album is getting such high praises (even by the mainstream)

Favorite Doom track (and one of my favorite tracks of any genre):

This is of of the best songs ever recorded. If you like doom at all, get all of Esoteric's albums. It's funeral doom, but it's still accessible

Check out the following albums:

Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Metallica - Master of Puppets

See if you notice any distinction in music quality (riffing, solos, drumming, song structure, lyrics, etc) between those 3 bands and SOAD, FFDP and Disturbed. If you enjoy the albums and want to get further into the Metal genre as a whole from there, just drop me a mention.

I haven't checked out The Ocean yet, but I can confirm that Neurosis is that piff. Start off with Through Silver In Blood, if it doesn't click during the first listen just give it one more try and you'll be :wow:.

After you "get" that album, check out the rest of their stuff (specifically Enemy of the Sun, Times of Grace, and A Sun That Never Sets).

Also, check these albums out if you've never listened to them:

Cult of Luna - Somewhere Along the Highway
Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain
Boris - Feedbacker
Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance (Brave Murder Day is their best album, but this release is probably a better introduction based off of what you already listen to)
Cult of Luna - Salvation and through Silver in Blood :blessed:. Both 9/10 caliber

That new YOB is truly demonic brehs. I just listened to that shyt intently in my bed and it filled me with so much sorrow and uneasiness. The album impacts you in a physical way. Listen to it with headphones and see what's up.

I haven't been this physically affected by an album since Xasthur "prison of mirrors".

:wow:
