It depends at what engagement range you're at. You can pick off a lot of stuff at distance if you've got training or are a good shot. The Glock should only be used for semi-close engagement.
I doubt they'd attack if they don't feel threatened or they're not defending a kill or cubs.

I think it’s fukked up to kill animals for no reason myself but that’s because a lot of idiots do it as some sort of trophy. For 5 billion I could understand a lot more.
Far as the scenario, a person only hope is the shots scare most if not all of them away. If that don’t happen it’s a done deal, I don’t care how nice you are with guns. You might maybe get 2-3 of them before the rest tear you to shreds.
