I don't know what to expect out of Punk's return. What's his schedule going to be like? How many times will he wrestle? How many times will he appear? I know what to expect with Brock. Show up on PPV, maybe make a one off appearance on RAW and take off for the rest of the build up, wrestle on next PPV, and then disappear for a month or two.

his deal was for 10-12 matches a year…basically one a month..or save 4 for the ppvs..

They said he’s full time

I honestly don’t even think Vince and Punk have heat. The beef with Punk is with Triple H & Laurinaitus.

Pretty sure you're right. Based on the Colt Cabana podcast, it sounded like Punk & Vince had a cordial relationship prior to the whole getting released on his wedding day thing. Vince has always had the ability to mend fences with anyone too.

Vince reacted by giving Roman talking points. The bigger picture was that AEW drew a reaction more than WWE for that night, however it will be interesting in the next few months as football begins if AEW holds a lead over WWE in ratings.

Vince doesn't care about one wrestler, he cares about the company getting less exposure AEW.

They should have done a reveal ala Hogan/NWO. Have a 2v1 main event. The single guy says he has a 'mysterious' partner who won't be revealed until the PPV. Then when it looks like the single guy is losing Punk comes out to 'cult of personality'.

Of course in the internet age keeping a secret is near impossible. Someone is bound to leak the story to twitter or some shyt.

A little off topic, but one of the more amusing stories that I've heard Punk tell was when was new in the company he once sent Vince a text at 4 A.M. in the morning, and much to his surprise he got a response back literally 30 seconds later.

There's a reason there's so many stories about Vince not sleeping. Just look at his eyes next time he's on TV.

You're right. Punk went after Vince on the podcast, but that was when the wounds were still fresh. If Punk wanted to come back to the WWE, Vince would be the one to put a deal in place.

From what I can tell, Triple H never liked Punk and never understood him. He was probably even threatened by him. That's why he beat him at Night of Champions in 2011 and tried giving him the win back at WrestleMania XXX, like that match would have had any stakes. :mjlol:

In retrospect, that whole ordeal and Punk calling him out on it to his face in Vince’s office may have quietly been the beginning of Vince not all the way trusting Triple H to do the right thing with the company. This is probably playing in his head right now as he’s dismantling another perceived talent failure of his in nXt
