is this true? Only thing i can think about is The Breakfast Club might not have popped without the fab vs ray j call.

None of his albums or singles are essential to tell the story of hip hop, Wayne & 50 get the mixtape claim over him.

If fab i# irrelevant to you he ain’t for your generation.

Maybe, but we got more emo/singing rappers today because of 808s, which Cudi was a huge part of.

That's the type of shyt these young ppl gravitate to nowadays.

That's one thing I respect about Fab. He actually raps
I didn’t even see this before I posted, I thought it was MBDTF but you’re right it was the 808s album :salute:

Schooling people takes forever; don't bother
i liked his there is no competition 2 and friday night freestyles mixtapes....soul tapes 2 was good too

but he had to bring in some random features on the shyne beat :why: he should have just killed that beat solo, fukk shyne's feelings, it's been a decade since people used that beat, ffs

and wayne be dumbing out more than fab on his own beats, like throw it in the bag remix...fab be trying too hard trying to catch a vibe and repeating lines when he should be spitting

with his trilogies, it seems like vol 1 was him barely getting started, vol 2 is always great, and then vol 3 was hastily done to complete the trilogy...the official release either has the beat redone without the OG sample or the beats he used were something we heard too many times for his version to stand out, like exhibit f, etc

the throwback freestyles were a trip, too :whoo:

but yeah, idk why when fab drops a mixtape, it barely makes any waves even though he's barred up, probably not enough swag or something

go do a dipset mixtape with juelz or something, we too old for rappers to get into beef just to drum up attention

that album he did with jadakiss was around the same time that dipset reunion album came out, damn near felt like it was time to put back on the throwback FUBU jerseys :banderas:

lloyd banks be dropping similar bars and 50 cent be in the background dumbing out with the adlibs sounding like he's getting stabbed or something, and then the audience be finally understanding what he's saying even though it's the same monotone flow...get juelz to be fab's hypeman for their mixtape

But Hip Hop would look different without him because of the work he did on MBDTF and Watch the throne and Travis Scott wouldn’t exist literally….the man is named after Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi)
Same could be said for Mike Dean:sas2:

This is some Gen-Z/Gen-Alpha podcast hot take designed to get attention. Fabolous has multiple hit records and features, as well as classic mixtapes and verses.

He was also at the forefront of the throwback jersey era when it comes to style. His crew was robbing and shooting rappers and athletes. It doesn’t get more hip-hop than that :yeshrug: Hell, Plaxico shot himself because he was so afraid of SF.

He’s corny and beat up his girlfriend but if we’re talking about strictly hip-hop there’s definitely a place for him.

This is a terrible take. No Fab no breathe, no soul tapes.... bmf affiliate that helped push Jeezy with a mainstream look (real talk album)..... not saying no jeezy without Fab but he most certainly helped.... no Fab no there is no competition series....quality rnb features....nighas on here buggin lol

Im old though but in my opinion Fab is solidified and most importantly he still rappin rappin. If there is room for these mumbling autotune dudes there is room for Fab.

Why have this discussion at all? Especially on a podcast that doesn't have much traction. Are there really people in the world specifically looking for this crew to speak on this? Wild

Yeah I don't really get this way of thinking either. Rank them from least favorite to favorite or whatever if you want but just going who could be erased from existence is weird. I mean there's arguably great artists who put out great music but if you deleted their music it wouldn't change anything. It comes across as glib.
