The Yay
culliver wasnt on calvin all day long, thats a fallacy. we had a bracket coverage on megatron.

the stats were:

carlos rogers allowed 2 of 3 passes thrown to mega, for 48 yards, longest being 41
tarrell brown allowed 3 of 3 passes thrown to mega, for 49 yards, longest being 23
chris culliver allowed 2 of 3 passes thrown to mega, for 20 yards, longest being 11

so culliver actually did the best as far as I can tell, although its hard to tell with bracket coverage, as the zones arent necessarily obvious

Rams tried that wham play that y'all ate off of last year and got nothing.

Y'all punks can shyt on the rams all u want but they have good players on that defense and they got a top 5 coach in Jeff Fischer. Not to mention Fischer was hangin round the lions last year a lot.

I'm expecting a good game. But y'all should get this one, we'll take that win in the offs though:shaq:

better be ready, its coming for a long td run

:jawalrus:

fisher a top 5 coach? :russ:

It's not so much the offense of the Lions, because they have the same pieces they had last year, minus Best. In their defense, the Lambs totally redid their secondary and they picked off Stafford 3 times. He ended up throwing a game winning touchdown (which shouldn't have counted since there was an illegal man down field, but I digress) and CJ had 111 yards receiving, but other than that he was just throwing the ball up.
The defense, more specifically the defensive backfield, is the weak spot. They let Sam Bradford post a 105.1 passer rating, and I bet you can't name 1 offensive weapon other than Steven Jackson.
They held Jackson to 51 yards rushing total and 78 yards rushing as a team, but you can probably attribute that to the St. Louis offensive line more than anything.
Basically, if the Niners play like they did against Green Bay, they'll be able to pick apart the secondary of the Lions.
Why do you keep saying this. That isn't what happened at all. Pretty much all Stafford's picks were on outs where the db jumped the route. None of the passes were from him just throwing the ball up. In fact when he wasn't throwing picks he was pretty much carving their secondary up with precision passing and there was probably only one instance of him just throwing it up, and that was with Calvin in double coverage and resulted in a huge gain. If anything he needs to trust Calvin more and "throw it up" more often. It was a bad game by Stafford, but it wasn't in the way you described.

Schwartz looks like an angry elf.

Anthony Davis by far was the best part of that altercation, in the video you can see him loving it. Cracking up while breaking up the two

I said it because he was throwing the ball up. I didn't say that's what led to the interceptions; maybe I should've worded it a little differently.
Also, I know the 3 picks were on out routes. The reason he threw those picks was because he predetermined the throw and didn't bother reading the coverage.

Good news and bad news for Lions secondary | ProFootballTalk

The Lions finally got starting cornerback Chris Houston back at practice on Wednesday.

Unfortunately for the Detroit pass defense, they still had two starters sitting out the session with injuries. Cornerback Bill Bentley joined safety Louis Delmas on the sideline as a result of a concussion he suffered in 27-23 victory over the Rams. Like all players diagnosed with a concussion, Bentley needs to be cleared by an independent neurologist before he’s able to return to the field. As his teammate Jahvid Best might tell him, that’s not always a fast-moving process.

Houston has been out of action since the third preseason game as a result of a high ankle sprain. Tim Twentyman of the Lions website believes that Houston’s ability to practice two straight days will determine whether or not he’s able to play against the 49ers on Sunday night. Delmas hasn’t practiced since having knee surgery in early August and his presence in the lineup this week seems like a fairly remote possibility given the lack of progress he’s made since the operation.

Jacob Lacey started in place of Houston and John Wendling started for Delmas. In the event that Bentley isn’t cleared in time to play the 49ers, both men would likely return to the starting lineup for a second straight week.
