Verizon needs to run a temporary promotion where data is half off or doubled....
Then I could see people getting in on this plan and it wouldn't hit us as hard. Or they need a alternative without unlimited minutes(who the fukk wants that anyway) that cuts the cost of the phones in half.

Verizon on your proposal:
nah trust me they'll find a way to make your plan very inconvenient and make you change to the new one eventuallyActually they did have a promotion. 4 GB for the price of 2.
I can't lie, VZW is smartening up. But we still ahead of the game. Once my contract expires in September I'll just be going month to month. I'm never giving up my unlimited data. 17 gigs last month for me too.
I was gonna cancel the other line on my account but the cute sounding VZW rep advised me to make them 2 separate lines (no family plan) and suspend the one I'm not using so I could always have an extra line with unlimited data if I ever need it.
Full retail for brand new phones from now on though. That's the only way this affects me. But that shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I can make the appropriate moves to get my hands on a device if need be so no worries.

Anything thats too good to last rarely does. Such is the case with some lucky Verizon Wireless customers who were able to preorder the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone last month while still holding onto their grandfathered unlimited data plans. Thats because weve received a tip from a reader who says that Verizon is no longer offering this sweet deal for Galaxy S III users, even if they filed their preorders before the June 28th introduction of Verizons new shared data plans.
The reader said that he had preordered his Galaxy S III on June 6th and was expecting it to be delivered sometime next week. He says that Verizon sent him the following message last week, telling him that he will no longer be allowed to bring his old unlimited data plan over to the Galaxy S III, which runs on Verizons LTE network:
Your request to keep the unlimited data plan for the new equipment cannot be granted. Verizon no longer offers this feature. To complete your request we have the following features available (i.e. $30 for 2GB, $50 for 5Gb or $80 for 10GB) please advise which one you would like
Please reply to this email with the above information so that we may continue your request as soon as possible.
So, Verizon subscribers, it looks like the opportunity to get the Galaxy S III or any other 4G LTE phone, most likely while keeping your old unlimited data plan has apparently come and gone.
Get with Sprint while you can...the end is near. AT&T will be following this shyt very soon.
Well damn...I thought Verizon was the first to do it on such a...draconian levelAt&t started it
the hell?I have Wifi
