Yo....wtf no one is outraged over this Verizon Data plan change?

Upgrade means using their credit to make your next phone cheaper, right?

For instance, say I want to use my upgrade for a new phone. The phone cost $300, they front over $250, so all I have to pay is $50. That's considered an upgrade.

But what if I just outright buy the $300 phone. Is that an upgrade?

Example motorola Razr is retail price $600 but if you upgraded to it (renewed the contract for 2 years) youd get it at the current discount price of $100.

If you buy the phone at full retail price then you wont lose unlimited data

Limited Data will probably fukk me, as I use my Galaxy Nexus heavy (social media, internet). I've already used 1.5 GBs for the month of June... and that's with moderate use IMO. I suppose I can use WiFi whenever I'm at home, but that's what I have a computer for.

I'm interested to know if there's an overage charge per KB, or if you simply will not be able to use data all together.

Right now I pay around $100/month, so with this new plan with a 2 or 4 gig limit, I'll have to potentially chuck up another $10 bucks. That won't exactly destroy my pockets, but I'm more concerned about having to worry about how much data I'm using per month. I don't have to worry about going over my voice minutes because I rarely use them in the first place.

way it works now

if you have 250 mb of data, and you go over it, they charge you like $25 and give you another 250mb

If you pay for the 2 gigs of data, and you go over, they charge you $10, and give you another gig

How long has this been the case?

I know unlimited data ended last summer, but I upgraded to the Galaxy Nexus this past January and kept my grandfathered unlimited plan.
