No, they didn't. They found naturally-occurring underwater rock formations like the Bimini 'wall'. Several underwater cities have been found off the coast of India, Japan, Italy, Egypt, and elsewhere, but none are Atlantis.

What if those paintings are just olden folktale that people in those times used to entertain themselves.
