Don't get me wrong, I can see how it would be entertaining especially if you want to see some explosions, blood, and nazis getting killed. and for 5 dollars, i can't be too mad. I was just expecting more.
It was mediocre at best. The writing was atrocious and the editor gave up any sense of continuity halfway through. The acting was decent but this movie is average at best. I also found the plot to be transparent and cliche due to a poor execution. One of the few redeeming aspects was the fact that the film doesn't drag at all. overall it was hot garbage and I wish I would have seen the judge instead.
Yes, it was visually pleasing. It was basically made for theaters and hungover professors to show their students. If you want to watch people die, it's great.

I thought it was refreshing to see a ww2 film that doesn't paint the U.S. as the great saviors of the world that could do no wrong. It was just a brutal film that showed how nasty war is. I didn't notice any problem at all with the editing. Also thought Pitt, Shia and Lehrman were all pretty great
It was phenomenal up until the last 30 minutes or so. That last scene where they all collectively make the "decision" I was in the theater like
If it weren't for the last act I'd say the film is a borderline masterpiece TBH. The atmosphere and overall tone are unlike anything I've ever seen in a war film. It just felt so authentic.
LeBeouf and Bernthal were amazing.
Pitt and Lerman were very good.
Pena was cool, probably the weakest link IMO.
I read the script before seeing the movie and they actually had to cut a few fairly graphic scenes:
That part where Pitt sees the captured SS captain and swings on him. Well in the script he violently stabs dude in the chest with his knife.
Also, the scene where them kids blow up the tank w/ a rocket launcher. In the script, one of the kids is still alive and Pitt walks right up and shoots him point blank. There was some more shyt I can't recall ATM
Anyway, I honestly don't think you need to see it in the theater. Just make sure when you do see it, it's on a big screen with good sound.
