I haven't been through the whole thread, and im not sure how your spot is set up, but do you have cameras set up on your perimeter, especially where you pull in your car. And if not do you plan on it.

Wifey calls me paranoid for having cameras everywhere but i don't care. Those movement notifications can be a life saver.

Glad to see a full recovery

No cameras. The chances of something like that happening are like lightning striking the same place twice. Almost zero chance of it. BTW I come and go with no fear to this day.

That’s dope bro. I read your original post from the sidelines before I could post. Glad to hear you got all of your mobility back. Congrats!

This is why I hate gangways in Chicago. It’s ripe for robbers and bytch nikkas to try you due to how vulnerable you are. Would never own a crib where I had to enter my garage from there.

I don't have a gangway. My garage faces the alley, then only the yard is between the garage and my back door.

5/7/22 UPDATE

So it's been like 18 months, and I'm pretty much back to normal. When I was shot in the arm, it shattered my humerus above the elbow which gave me bad nerve damage in my hand where I could not open my hand or lift my wrist.

That nerve damage lasted for like 6 or 7 months. by summer 2021, my hand was 99% good and is still good to this day for the most part. the crazy part was, I was back working like a month after this happened since I worked at the crib. the worst part was having to use a computer with my right hand exclusively for the first few months. I also had a second WFH part time job I was doing, so having the one hand was brutal.

However, the shot I took in the anke shatterd my fibula and tibia at the ankle. That is why I fell immediately trying to stand up after being shot as I didn't feel anything. my foot was literally going the wrong way like dude in the movie "misery".

I ended up having 3 surgeries on my left ankle. the first was to stabilize it. that lasted like 3 or 4 weeks. Then I had a second surgery where they put titanium plate and screws in my leg. that took like 4 months before I could heal. by april 2021, I was walking again. I mean my ankle still hurt like hell, but I was able to walk.

fast forward to now, I been having the titanium in my ankle and been able to walk reasonably well all this time. that shooting robbed me of the ability to run, job or jump off my left leg. the doctor told me I'd probably never run again, and I resigned myself to that.

so when they put the metal in my leg, the incision would not heal in over a year and got infected, so they decided to take the hardware out so it would finally heal. that happened last week. and what ended up happening as a by product of the titanium being removed is ALL the range of motion in my left ankle immediately came back within 2 days. not only that, I was able to jump and run again without pain. so that was a miracle. as soon as the stitches are out my ankle, I plan on resuming running this summer :blessed:
i'm glad you're on the road to full recovery and you deserved that bit of luck with the infection. wow, that's awesome news.

Wow, breh! I'm glad you're doing well. You never know people's story. My job tried to move me out to Chicago (with a generous relo package) but I declined. Damn. :picard:

First off, I'm glad you got through that and have recovered. It's a blessing.

Next, I'm curious as to how all of that went down.

Did the incision not heal properly because you were being too active?

If the incision had healed perfectly, and you wouldn't have got an infection, then you would have lost your ability to run.

Reading that makes me feel like if I'm ever in a similar situation, I'd request for them to take the titanium out, just so that I can have a chance of getting full range of motion again.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

thanks man.

it's weird, cuz the titanium in my arm was fine and healed no problem and that was a HUGE incision.

the incision on the inner part of my ankle was small, but the tissue would not heal and it kept leaking for over a year. they said it was an infection.

the infection was a blessing in disguise because the surgery to remove my hardware from it essentially restored ALL of the mobility I had lost for the past 18 months.

I had no idea that the titanium was causing me not to be able to run and what not. not to mention, every morning when I had it in my ankle, my ankle would be in a lot of pain for the first 10-15 minutes of the day until I loosened up.

Are you back to work yet?

Do they treat you like a war hero?

The doctors were good to you?
