Yikes: 50% of Americans say they live paycheck to paycheck. 31% of ppl that make 100K live the same.

Man it's crazy breh, Silver Spring for $1.1K now would be a miracle. Even PG Plaza is like $1.5K and up for a studio.

DMV is still the best value IMO when compared to other HCOL metros (NYC, SF-Bay, LA, Boston)
Yeah man, some good times. I was living on Piney Branch off New Hampshire Avenue. Dem Amigos be getting drunk and blasting music in the aapartments but I didn't give a fvck, I was blasting my Afrobeat too:wow:

Living pay check to pay check has to be stressful. No one deserves that shyt…. There should be more in place to help those that do.

:mjcry:
Nobody can help you have self discipline. That’s the MAIN thing holding people in that paycheck to paycheck space.

I earn over 100k and have been living paycheque to paycheque in 2022. I reckon some percentage of those people in the 100k+ bracket are in the same position.

In 2020 I paid off all of my student loans. Increasing my saving and spending power but decreasing my cash reserves.

In 2021 I bought my second property and got married. About $66k of my own cash. These are all activities of the millenial semi affluent middle class.

So in 2022 I’ve paid off those credit cards and only now I’m able to start saving. Next month will be the first month this year I won’t be living paycheque to paycheque. I think a lot of people in the 100k+ are in similar boats. They’ve made big investments and will pay it off.

That’s not check to check breh. You were smart and set yourself up for success. I am currently doing the same now.

We have the mortgage and her student loans now. And a little credit card debt.

I’m trying to decide if I should stack and payoff lump sums or just throw every penny at the debt every two weeks.

thoughts?

Simple Mobile has a $40 plan. My FPL electric bill for the past two months have hovered around $33 and it's mostly due to TV and fridge, will most likely increase from now on due to the AC use. Gas and water is already included in the rent. I pay $35 for Xfinity internet.

I buy my own groceries and cook, but do ubereats twice a month. All this is in Miami FL.

Back in 2018, I bought a clean 2008 Honda Accord for $4000 at a car auction. There wasn't anything wrong with the car. I did the tune up, replaced the motor mounts and put new Firestone tires and some tints. Total repair cost about $1800. I put it all on my credit card and paid it off in less than a year.

If the interest on the debt is bigger than the interest on the savings it’s best to pay off the debt.

Theres about...a few dozen cities at most you should be living check to check making 100k. I'm not about to lose sleep over 6 figure folks who don't know how to manage they bread, or using said bread to pay off the debt they incurred and thus setting themselves up for future success.
