Too repetitive, and the production all feels like it has a glossy plastic film over it that makes it sound cheap imo.

kendrick went deeper and sounded more natural

like dj quik said, kendrick made the audiobiography of the west coast... not just in rap, the past 100 years of black music and LA is in TPAB. Kendrick successfully incorporated all the best ideas black musicians tried to pioneer these last 100 years. It's ok if you can't see it, but that just mean you don't have enough music knowledge to see it.

on the other hand, yg just dropped a very generic album.

you also have to give props to the musicians kendrick hired. Kendrick worked with 61 musicians, all of them widely consdiered as the best artists/musicians of this era. We knew it was gonna be flawless in many ways before it came out.

but you're right, like george clinton said, you can have the argument that kendrick is like Prince, he can do it all. He could rock a rock classic if he wanted to

definitely, and the production has too many flaws. Thats not what you would expect from such basic beats.
