damn, when it rains it pours. RICO is some bullshyt though.
They using RICO more and more on gangs these days, thats such a wild all encompassing thing that destroys criminal organizations.
its an invented catch-all law meant for the MAFIA (i.e. not ambiguous black street gangs but actual multinational elite subversive well organized and connected orgs) to basically criminalize grasping at straws.

Essentially the government couldn't prosecute mafia members cause their obvious criminality couldn't be directly traced so "racketeering" is just ... doing dirt.

Its insane.

Now they're just hitting random "gangs" with it and giving dudes football numbers when weaker cases fall apart.

Im no lawyer but its as close as you can come to a court of public opinion in this case. You dont even have to directly have done the crime but its essentially "you're a member of a group we said is bad so you're bad"

These groups while not as formally organized as the Italian Mafia, are structured, connected to otherwise legitimate businesses and dabble in all manners of illegal activity.

You'd be surprised how many people will sit in front of you and say "I have no idea how my boyfriend/husband/etc makes money bought me a car/house/started my business"

:mjlol:
Of course they know, and they'll talk or be included in the conspiracy.

Also, not everyone who could get charged will get charged, they're only going to indict who they believe they'll convict 100%. So while it may look like they're just wrangling everyone who could be involved there's a lot more that goes into it.

Lucci is probably done.
