Just letting New England and Washington know the price of the brick. Now they know the price of fleece. One of them will pay it.

It would be a franchise crippling move. If they do that they deserve to be sent into the sun :dead:

Historic means better than last year which was a criminal fleece.

If they fully prepared to crash out IDK why anyone would be against it. Could stillt ake a qb if they want to

Yeah last year Chicago committed just a little larceny, but this year the Bears are just straight up saying if you really want Caleb Williams then we are going to strong arm your ass. Now how much do you want Caleb Williams?

I can see Washington getting hoed.

They would be so dumb. Because Bears for some reason might value Maye highly too so they rob them for essentially who theyd pick anyway

True, but the Bears are just using other teams greed against them. Somebody is going to do it. Think about any team picking in that 5 to 25 range that want and need a quarterback. Some of them are going to be willing to crash out for the opportunity to get Caleb Williams. No way Washington or New England can chance teams like the Giants, Vikings, Raiders, Saints or the Falcons jumping in the front of them to grab Williams. One or more of those teams are going to make the Bears an offer that the Bears can't refuse.

Oh there will be some offers that will be enough, because "historic" means we can do it but you are going to pay through the nose. Think about a team like Minnesota that might not have known that Caleb Williams was a possibility. What would they offer the Bears to get that number 1 pick? The Bears would be out to fleece Minnesota and try to pry away several years of number 1 picks and a wide receiver like Justin Jefferson. The Raiders might offer Adams and several years of picks. That type of thing could put a lot of pressure on Washington, New England, Atlanta or even the Giants to risk it all to get Williams.

The crazy part is that I am actually starting to believe the Bears management when they indicate that they have not actually made a decision on the future of Justin Fields. They actually do sound like they are open to either trading that number 1 pick or Justin Fields.

A haul like Justin Jefferson and several years of first round pick from Minnesota would be historic as Hell. My point is that there are a lot of dumbass organizations and Caleb Williams is supposedly a generational talent. Somebody is either going to overpay for that number 1 draft pick or overpay for Justin Fields.
