Check out this twitter thread

So I peeped through this thread. Seven made it to a Super Bowl and six made it to a Super Bowl with the team that drafted them. Three won a Super Bowl, and two with the team that drafted them (technically one since Eli wasnā€™t drafted by the Giants). Isnā€™t the goal to win a Super Bowl? Also, Iā€˜m curious how many of those 80 starts were with the team that drafted them? Kinda irrelevant to use that as a metric if those starts include teams that didnā€™t draft them.

I mean dont these numbers plainly show picking a qb one is a fairly sound endevor if you want to have a winning team and or/participate in a super bowl?

Not really because like I said, only 6 of those QBs have even been to a SB with the team that drafted them (two won). As far as making the playoffs, thereā€™s too much parity. Teams rarely even make the playoffs 3 years in a row.

Bro 6/20 is still better odds than the myriad of qbs selected after them :dead:

30% chance of making a super bowl these are not heinous odds in football breh

Still got a gut feeling that Poles never really wanted Fields here, (because he wasnā€™t his guy) and did just enough to ensure he wasnā€™t successful.

It makes no sense to now hold these extensive interviews with OC prospects about the type of offense they will run, when you passed on Jim Caldwell two years ago, who literally had a fully detailed plan for what he wanted to implement for Fields.

Just a shame. And no real plan at WR until this year and even still Chase Claypool was a dsaster. Cant just blame that on Fields. He couldnt even get the ball in the Dolphins offense.

Just wasted two years of his development.

Ok, letā€™s take a look at those 6 QBs:

Drew Bledsoe
Peyton Manning
Eli Manning
Cam Newton
Jared Goff
Joe Burrow

Only Peyton Manning turned out to be a HOF level or ā€œgenerationalā€ level QB. Maybe Burrow can get there as well, but he has his injury issues, plus heā€™s already 27 with stiff competition in his own division. Bledsoe got replaced by Brady after a bad season then an injury and never got his job back. Eli had two magical runs, but his career was literally ā€œmidā€ with a .500 record. Cam had a magical MVP season, but his tenure was up and down (mostly down). Goff went to a team that already had talent, and he was traded because they didnā€™t believe in him.

Also when youā€™re the #1 pick, the expectations are higher. You get drafted that high to be a franchise altering QB, yet there have been more misses than hits :yeshrug:

Also, his chart includes Jameis Winston as a QB who hit all the marks. I didnā€™t recall Jameis making the playoffs, so I looked it up. This dude included Jameis as having a playoff win in a game he didnā€™t start and threw one pass :mjlol:

My main point though is just that his tweet makes no sense. Just because he made a spreadsheet doesnā€™t make his argument valid.

This stockholm syndrome bears fans have over JF is insanity :mjlol:

I wouldnt be shocked if the Dolphins had the number one pick if they would ship tua out and pick williams and we over here saying keep jf when he hasnt shown much to warrant such conviction. Outside of being a dope ass person, but that doesnt make you a productive player sooo

After 3 years Rubbishky made a pro bowl went to the offs and had better numbers than JF and we all agreed he had to get out of here.

Imagine Texans turning down Stroud cuz they got davis mills :dead: david mills and trade down for a haul man. Itll be our year next year :mjlol:

If they pass on taking the consensus braindead cant miss pick Imma be both amused and shocked. Every other fanbase looking at us like were retarded for making arguments for not taking williams.

My thing is I rather take a risk on this because if you are wrong, then everyone was wrong anyway. No one will really question it.

If you pass on Williams and he goes on to be good/great Poles will never get another GM job and I think he realizes that :mjlol:
