Some of yall (and mainly people on social media) are never satisfied. When Fields plays well, but the defense folded at the end, Fields didnā€™t do enough. When Fields messes up, but he rectifies himself and gets the W, heā€™s trash. The common denominator seems to be coaching because when Fields hasnā€™t played well, itā€™s because of predictable play calling and not playing to his strengths. Iā€™m not talking about just running and getting him out the pocket, but no vertical game. When the defense folded, itā€™s because Flus coached not to lose and was playing soft coverage and the defense gave up big plays in a short amount of time.

I mean if they keep winning he has to keep him and see what happens. worst case scenario he flames out but you draft mhj and best OL and your team is basically just missing a QB. I don't think Williams (and especially not Maye) would have this team any better than it is right now anyway so :yeshrug:
I have this feeling that kj might be a new and improved cam newton, I hope the bears look into it

The thing that Iā€™m most frustrated with is people putting the all the blame on fields when Getsy should be getting killed today I Understand fields had two fumbles but he wasnā€™t the main issue last night the play calling and game plan was fukking awful but yet people want to talk about fields the only reason why i say fields wonā€™t be the qb next season is because you canā€™t have back to back number one pick and not take a QB if you donā€™t have a top ten QB but if flus comes back next season then I world rather keep fields, hire Greg Roman as OC and pep Hamilton as QB coach/pass game coordinator

Just need the patriots to win one more game and the first pick is ours :blessed: Iā€™m all in on Caleb Williams iā€™ve been the biggest Justin fields supporter but I think itā€™s best if both move on i still believe Justin can be a top 10 QB but you canā€™t pass on Caleb

For the film break down nerds like my self

And look at what Caleb has to work with I got this from twitter
Justin Fields starting O line 2019:

LT: Thayer Munford - 7th round pick
LG: Jonah Jackson - 3rd round pick
C: Josh Myers - 2nd round pick
RG: Wyatt Davis - 3rd round pick
RT: Branden Bowen - UDFA

2020:

LT: Dawand Jones - 4th round pick
LG: Harry Miller - Retired
C: Josh Myers - 2nd round pick
RG: Wyatt Davis - 3rd round pick
RT: Paris Johnson Jr - 1st round pick

5/8 of Justin Fields offensive lineman were drafted including half of them being drafted in the first 3 rounds. Pretty stacked if you ask me. Now letā€™s compare that to what Caleb Williams had to work with-

Caleb Williams starting O line 2021:

LT: Erik Swenson - Retired
LG: Marquis Hayes - 7th round pick
C: Robert Congel - Proj- UDFA
RG: Chris Murray - UDFA
RT: Tyrese Robinson - UDFA

2022:

LT: Bobby Haskins - UDFA
LG: Andrew Vorhees - Proj 4th b4 injury
C: Brett Neilon - Retired
RG: Justin Dedich - Proj 5th round
RT: Jonah Monheim - Proj UDFA

2023:

LT: Jonah Monheim - Proj UDFA
LG: Emmanuel Pregnon- Proj Retire
C: Justin Dedich - Proj 5th round
RG: Jarrett Kingston - Proj 7th round
RT: Michael Tarquin- Proj unknown

Thatā€™s 4/13 lineman drafted with 0 in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Quite a stark difference in offensive line play between the two yet Justin Fields still took 20% more sacks.

Maybe Caleb Williams had better weapons though? Letā€™s see who they were throwing to during their college careers:

Justin Fields College WRs:

Chris Olave: 1st round pick
Garett Wilson: 1st round pick
Jaxon Smith Njigba: 1st round pick
Jameson Williams: 1st round pick

Caleb Williams College WRs:

Michael Woods: 7th round pick
Marvin Mims: 2nd round pick
Mario Williams: Proj 7th round
Jordan Addison: 1st round pick
Tahj Washington: Proj UDFA
Brenden Rice: Proj 3rd round

Thatā€™s 4 top 20 wide receivers for Justin Fields all drafted before Caleb Williams top rated WR at 23. That may be the greatest college football WR room of all time. Not a comparison.
