strikes over. Now bring us 1923 Asfukkinsap
It’s the beginning of the end for “Yellowstone,” as production has now begun on the final episodes of the megahit series.

The show is once again shooting in Montana on the second half of its fifth season. The first half, which consisted of eight episodes, originally aired between November 2022 and January 2023. The second and final installment, which will consist of six episodes, is slated to debut on Paramount Network in November.

As was previously reported, production on the final episodes of the series was delayed in 2023 due to the dual writers’ and actors’ strikes that shut down most of Hollywood. It was also previously reported that “Yellowstone” star Kevin Costner would be exiting the series in Season 5, reportedly over his desire to focus on the epic Western feature “Horizon,” which would have seriously impacted his availability to film “Yellowstone.” The first part of the film is scheduled to be released in June 2024, with Part 2 following in August.

Part 1 of “Horizon” recently had its debut at the Cannes film festival, with Costner telling the crowd they can expect an additional two films in the “Horizon” series.

Paramount has also commissioned two new series set within the world of “Yellowstone” — “1944” and a contemporary series currently titled “2024.” No further details have been released about either series since they were originally announced in November 2023. “2024” will reportedly feature new cast members and locations with some crossover characters as well.

“Yellowstone” was created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Both serves as executive producers along with Costner, Art Linson, David C. Glasser, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, Michael Friedman, Christina Voros, and Keith Cox. The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Is this before or after they seen the movie? :jbhmm:
I only ask because I'm curious if they saw it and it was that good or they didnt see it but clapping beforehand because he may be going broke trying to fund the movie.

Yall think they just gonna kill him offscreen or leave the door open for a return? With how much drama he caused backstage and refusing to come back for the "final" season, probably the former.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this weekend’s other newcomer, Kevin Costner’s epic gamble “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1.” The $100 million-budgeted film about the expanding Western frontier has collected a disastrous $11 million from 4,000 theaters.

Costner and distributor Warner Bros. were counting on fans of the actor’s hit TV show “Yellowstone” to help the film to break out in America’s heartland. But dismal reviews and negative word-of-mouth from moviegoers — the film notched a 39% Rotten Tomato score and B- CinemaScore — likely won’t inspire a rebound in ticket sales. That’s problematic because a sequel, “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2,” is scheduled to hit the big screen in two months, on Aug. 16.

Costner, who reportedly spent more than $38 million of his own money to fund the movie series (which he wants to expand to four parts), has more to lose than Warners. The studio is only on the hook to pay for distribution. One theory behind the dismal turnout is that “Horizon” felt more like a mini-series than a feature film.

that 100M is just the shooting budget. For marketing you can count on another 100M+ as well. That's why to break even ppl do (shooting budget * 2.5) to account for marketing. So for this to break even it would need to make 250M at least.
