Thinking about getting into this.

As good as they say?

It's not an 8.7 on IMDb good but it's entertaining. You got Kevin Costner playing a cowboy in Montana trying to hold onto the old ways of doing things. His son, Kayce, is down for the action. His daughter, Beth, is a detestable character and perhaps my most hated character on a TV show.

I don't care for the actress who portrays her either. It got to the point for me where I would actually fast forward her scenes in the most recent season, after just going to my phone when she came on in season season 3. I started watching it late so I needed to pay attention to the story before I could tune her out. But I hated her from the first second she appeared on screen.

If you've seen Wind River, the Sheridanisms will be familiar to you. It's still an entertaining watch but I found last season to be where the decline started. 1883 is a prequel and is very good. Check that out. He's also got 1923 coming. Guy is the Western Good Ol Boy Ryan Murphy.

@Avisible Man provided a great breakdown…I’d say the first 2 seasons are pretty good and worth the watch…S3 and S4 were both a drag imo…the only reason I watched S4 was bcuz S3 ended on a wild cliffhanger despite a lackluster season…I think someone in here called it sons of anarchy on a farm lol which isn’t too far off…another show that started great but kind of fizzled after the 3rd/4th season

Anyone who thinks Yellowstone is a conservative show probably never watched it, creator Taylor Sheridan says.

Sheridan made his comment in an interview with The Atlantic on the eve of the show’s fifth-season premiere on streamer Paramount+ this Sunday. “They refer to it as ‘the conservative show’ or ‘the Republican show’ or ‘the red-state Game of Thrones, and I just sit back laughing,” he said.

“I’m like, ‘Really?’ The show’s talking about the displacement of Native Americans and the way Native American women were treated and about corporate greed and the gentrification of the West, and land-grabbing. That’s a red-state show?”

uh huh :unimpressed:

:laff:

Y everybody mad?!?!

Taylor mad.
U mad.

Everybody mad for no reason.

"Mad" at what? He's lying because he doesn't want his show politicized. It would limit his money. This marketing push flows from that. Let's not pretend here that the outlaw-cowboy archetype isn't textbook red state origin fantasy.

Aside from that, him being personally more comfortable having the inclusion of what was done to Native Americans doesn't make him a saint. Otherwise, Steven Williams - an outright legend actor - would still be in the show to have those conversations. But we know where that leads, so...whatever. He can portray himself as he likes. The show is what it is.
