I've said for a couple years now that trying to overthrow the government to stay in power and disrupting the peaceful transfer of power was a bridge too far for some of them old white people that were born in the World War II/Cold War era. Thats the generation that had extreme patriotism growing up and opposed dictators. Products of the Greatest Generation. Them Eisenhauer/Reagan Republicans that believe the institutions and believe the President isn't a king.

The fact the he has a large following of Nazi and Russian sympathizers now is also probably a turn off for them.
